World Farm Animals Day

For the first time, ceremonial events to protect domestic animals and livestock kept by farmers were held in 1983. The very initiative to protect artiodactyls is more than 200 years old. The story goes that in 1822, the Irishman Richard Martin was able to pass a bill through the British Parliament prohibiting cruelty to cattle, horses and sheep.
