Russian Holidays - Estimator's Day

Every year on April 26, Russia celebrates a professional holiday - Quantity Surveyor's Day. This date was not chosen by chance. In 2000, on this day, the estimated standards of the State Electric Power System were approved at the state level. They represent several dozen collections containing information on different types of work. The initiative to create a new holiday belongs to the management of the Adept group of companies, which specializes in selling software for estimators. On April 26, congratulations are accepted by all employees whose work involves the painstaking preparation of estimates. The entire team of organizations congratulates the estimators working on the company's staff, and their superiors present them with cash bonuses. Distinguished employees are awarded special letters of gratitude. In construction, an estimate is a detailed calculation of all costs, regardless of their type. It is advisable to carry out repair and construction work for the purpose of arrangement or restoration of objects in need of restoration. To implement such projects, you need to have approved estimates. At first glance, the professional activity of an estimator may not seem very significant, but in fact it is very important. Without such a specialist, it will be impossible to calculate all upcoming financial costs for rent, purchase of building materials and necessary technical equipment. Estimators have to communicate with different people to resolve work issues, therefore, in order to achieve complete mutual understanding with them, specialists must know the basics of the psychology of communication. The role of the estimator in the process of drawing up any future project cannot be overestimated. He can calculate material support and track whether the volume of financial investments corresponds to all the assigned tasks, the deadline for which is limited. The qualifications of an estimator are an indicator that is directly related to the quality of an employee’s work. It depends directly on the person’s level of education and professional experience. Unfortunately, not all construction companies agree to include an estimator on their staff, but order this service from third-party organizations. The complex and very painstaking work of an estimator is not always appreciated by people. In order to focus attention on how important the work of an estimator is considered, several years ago it was decided to create a new professional holiday, which has not yet been given official status and the holiday has not been made a day off.
