Border Guard Day of Armenia is a relatively young holiday, which was established in connection with the entry into force of the Decree of the President of Armenia. This significant event took place in 2007, and a fixed date was also chosen for it. April 26 was chosen for the celebration of Border Guard Day for a reason; there was one good reason for this: back in 1994, on this day, the draft act “On the State Border” was submitted to the Government of the country for consideration. In view of this, it is very important to take a comprehensive approach to its formation, hence the urgent need for each state to protect its borders and form an appropriate unit, which by its existence will instill in its citizens guaranteed calm and peace. The existence of such a service ensures: - the inviolability of the border; - protection of the interests of every citizen of the country, as well as his rights; - protection of the interests of the state and society as a whole from external attacks on security and peaceful existence; - compliance with the regime of border facilities and points. The holiday mainly indicates that the work performed by border guards is highly valued. After all, they perform an important mission to protect the state border. Therefore, the tasks facing the body are significant and extremely important. Armenia borders on four states, so the existence of a state-run National Security Service is simply mandatory for Armenia. The country's borders with Georgia and Azerbaijan are under independent control. Russian border guards are also helping to patrol the remaining borders. Every year, the best employees of the Service receive certificates of honor and titles on this day, and they are also celebrated. They hold a variety of ceremonial meetings and other festive events.
