Svarog Day among the Slavs
Celebrated on 4 OctoberOn October 4, the pagan Slavs glorified Svarog.
Svarog is the god of Slavic mythology, involved in blacksmithing. Some researchers note that he was not a god, but just a spirit of fire emitting heat. The figure of this celestial being is ambiguous: many scientists generally deny the fact of his presence in the pantheon of Slavic gods.
According to popular beliefs, Svarog was created to bring order to world chaos. He continued the work of the forefather god Rod in the creation of the material world after his retirement. Sometimes Svarog is called the incarnation of the Family, the Creator God or the supreme god.
