Holidays 12 september
Family accompanies a person from the first moments of his life. It creates the conditions in which personality is formed - it goes through the entire cycle of growing up from the stage of immaturity. Family has a tremendous influence on a person. It becomes the very foundation on which he creates himself brick by brick.
The idea of the international holiday “Crochet Day” belongs, oddly enough, to a man. In 2007, an American blogger made a statement on the Internet about holding International Crochet Day. Fans of this type of knitting, and this is mainly a female audience, supported this idea by organizing an event dedicated to crocheting and now September 12 is the International Day of Crochet Lovers. On September 12, everyone who has made crocheting their hobby takes part in events dedicated to this creative holiday. At small fairs and exhibitions they demonstrate their ability to crochet, show the results of their creativity, and organize master classes for those who want to master this ancient knitting technique, which requires perseverance and attention. Flash mobs, sharing experiences and photos through social networks, special crochet forums, all this action is dedicated to September 12, the International Day of Crochet Lovers. The crochet technique has an ancient and interesting history. Despite the fact that the first documentary evidence of this technique was recorded only in the nineteenth century, this type of needlework was popular in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Crocheting has captivated its admirers in different strata of society, from peasants to representatives of royal houses. Representatives of different social strata used a tool (device for crocheting) and material of different quality; if aristocrats could afford silk yarn and metal and silver hooks, then the common people used coarse woolen yarn and wooden tools for these purposes. Crocheting is a simpler technique than knitting. This difference in this knitting technique is gaining increasing popularity and prevalence. The simple crochet technique is airy and allows you to create unique items: dresses, skirts, coats, bags, hats, napkins, blouses and items necessary for the comfort and beauty of the interior. The hobby of crocheting has a very beneficial effect on human behavior and helps to calm down emotionally and under stress. Crocheting develops perseverance, attention to detail, and visual memory. This creative activity allows you to increase self-esteem through self-expression and distracts you from everyday problems. By the way, knitting lovers can celebrate another holiday - World Knitting Day in Public, which takes place on the second Saturday of July.
For many years, people around the world have celebrated Mindfulness Day on September 12th. This holiday, as well as ways to celebrate it, are discussed at seminars, in meditation groups, or simply in a small group gathering over a cup of tea during a lunch break. Celebrated annually on September 12, Mindfulness Day aims to raise awareness among the general population about the value and benefits of mindfulness. We live in a busy, fast-paced world and spend a lot of time on autopilot. Through simple changes and a mission of mindfulness, we can train our wandering and overloaded brain to be more present and in tune with our surroundings throughout the day. When we think about being mindful, we often assume it just means being kind to ourselves and others, but it's much more than that. Mindfulness is a powerful tool and a powerful state of being that can help us unlock our true potential and create a more loving, compassionate and fulfilling environment and experience for ourselves. It's being present in the moment and being aware of where we are and how we feel. Understanding the essence of the term “mindfulness” and being always attentive is one of the best gifts for your authentic self. The benefits of mindfulness are numerous and include the following: • restoring emotional balance; • reducing anxiety and fatigue; • eliminating depression; • slowing down the aging process; • improving sleep quality and concentration. To achieve the above result, you need to work on yourself and make small changes to your life rhythm: 1. Make time for fun (walking in the park, meeting friends, reading a book). 2. Follow the rules of an orderly space (made bed, clean dishes in the kitchen, neatly folded things). 3. Set goals, the achievement of which is a must. 4. Watch what you eat. 5. Breathe deeply. 6. Engage your senses (try to feel the atmosphere that hovers around you). 7. Be attentive to those around you. By adhering to very simple rules, your life will be filled with new colors and you will become more attentive to the world around you. Here are some ideas on how to celebrate this day: • Set aside time during the day to step away from your daily routine or to meditate. Even if it only takes a few minutes, deep breathing will clear your thoughts, help you calm down, and relax your body and mind;• take a yoga or meditation class;• hold a mindfulness flash mob in your community;• invite your neighbors or friends to a “mindfulness party” evening which will be spent in quiet contemplation, prayer and meditation;• attend a retreat;• go to a temple service;• gather with your family for a meal, devote the evening to reconnecting with those family members you have not seen for a long time;• organize a trip to work in complete silence or a moment of silence with colleagues at work;• start reading one of the many books about mindful living. Achieving the required level of mindfulness can be challenging because our minds tend to wander and our daily lives are filled with experiences and stimuli that distract us. The good news is that the more a person practices mindfulness, the more aware they become of themselves, their feelings, and the things they do. place in society.
On September 12, Russia celebrates Jeeper Day. This holiday, which is well known in motorist circles, is dedicated to the first domestically produced SUV. The prototype was created back in 1941 at NATI. The project was led by design engineer Alexander Fedorovich Andronov. The fate of his brainchild turned out to be sad - although it was superior to its main competitor GAZ-64 in its main characteristics, mass production of the AR-NATI was never launched, but we’ll tell you about everything in order. Shortly before the first shots were fired, which marked the beginning of the Second World War, several 4x4 vehicles were in service in different countries. This list includes the German “Horch-91”, the Japanese “Kurorange”, “Marmon-Herrington” from American designers and the Soviet GAZ-61, created on the basis of the “Emka”. Each of these models was produced in small series. The cars were, in essence, light command vehicles. Thanks to their increased cross-country ability, they could overcome most of the obstacles in their path and quickly deliver the leadership to the desired point. However, these cars were significantly inferior to modern SUVs. The first all-wheel drive SUV with dependent suspension, which went into mass production, was created in the USA. The army launched a tender, which was won by three large companies - Ford, American Bantam and Willys-Overland. Their designers were engaged in independent projects. The cars that were subsequently produced by Ford were called GPVs. The first two letters of this abbreviation were read as “JP”. It is believed that it was this abbreviation that gave rise to the name of a whole class of cars - jeeps. There is another version, according to which the cars got their name because of American army slang, where the word means “hard worker.” The development of off-road vehicles was carried out in many countries. The USSR was no exception. In our country, two factories were involved in the development of SUVs for the Red Army - NATI and GAZ. Their employees were hard at work creating prototypes. Two contestants subsequently had to undergo tests. The winner was planned to be put into mass production. The NATI plant presented a reconnaissance vehicle called AR-NATI, and its direct competitor is the GAZ-64. At that time, Soviet designers did not yet know about the developments of American companies commissioned by the military, so we can say that domestic SUVs were truly the first in our country. They were created independently, and not based on other people's models. Soviet designers did a great job, as work on both projects was completed in less than two months - this was a record time for such large-scale developments. The samples were brought to the Kremlin, where they were examined personally by Stalin along with Shaposhnikov, Budyonny and Voroshilov. During the tests, AR-NATI became the undisputed winner. This SUV has proven itself to be faster and more reliable. The winner was recommended for serial production, but, alas, this was not destined to happen. The Great Patriotic War began, and it turned out that AR-NATI required original parts, and it was almost impossible to organize their production in such difficult conditions. In the meantime, GAZ specialists were finalizing their model, which went into mass production as a more practical option. Meanwhile, AR-NATI, which was superior to its competitor in many ways, would soon face complete oblivion. One sample of the car was destroyed by the Germans during the bombing of the plant, and the second served honestly at the front, used up all its resources and was written off before the end of the war. Unfortunately, AR-NATI became a “ghost” SUV, which today still lives only in black and white photographs of war chronicles. Not a single drawing of this car has survived. If not for the pictures, the SUV could be considered an urban legend. But the GAZ-64 was mass-produced almost until the 70s.
In the modern world, there are not only trash cans that people use in everyday life, but also virtual baskets. Computer and tablet users send unnecessary documents, letters, photos and audio files to them. With a simple click of a button, the contents of the trash can are deleted. Unlike virtual waste, recycling electronic waste in the form of outdated or broken household appliances is more difficult. Sending gadgets for recycling helps preserve the planet's ecology. This is what draws society's attention to Electronic Waste Recycling Day, which is celebrated on September 12th. Devices and their components thrown away with solid waste pollute the environment, releasing toxic substances into the atmosphere and soil. Plastic that is not scrapped decomposes in the ground from 200 to 1000 years, circuit boards, batteries and galvanic batteries - more than 100 years. Household appliances and electronics contain such dangerous chemical elements as lead, cadmium, mercury, as well as compounds such as freon, polyvinyl chloride, etc. The decay products of old laptops, televisions, PCs and smartphones poison the earth, air and water bodies, which negatively affects both the environment and on people's health. Obsolete or broken equipment is disposed of at specially created recycling facilities. In factory workshops, electronics are disassembled into components, rubber, metal and plastic waste is sorted, which are then sent to a shredder. Reusing materials makes financial sense because... mining and processing new raw materials, rare earth and precious metals, glass, steel and alloys, costs more than recycling. Properly organized recycling of electronics at the state level makes it possible to create a circular economy and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. In 2019, 17.9 tons of garbage in the form of gadgets and other equipment were collected and processed on the planet, the rest went to landfills along with solid waste. The results of the Global Electronic Waste Monitoring show that every year the world's population throws away 42 million tons of products. And only a small number of gadgets are recycled, thereby reducing harm to the environment. Attention to this global problem is attracted not only by environmental actions and events, but also by the legislation of a number of countries. In some European countries and the USA, electronics are produced without the use of harmful chemicals, and new products are subject to a fee that goes towards organizing the recycling process. In September 2023, another order was issued by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, which requires that at least 85% of waste from all discarded equipment be sent for recycling. In the UK, the Royal Mint extracts gold and silver from old laptops and smartphones to make money. Residents of the Land of the Rising Sun are also conscious of the environment and natural resources. The Japanese willingly hand over faulty equipment and outdated electronics for recycling. For the winners of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, more than 5,000 sets of medals were made from recycled materials - melted down precious metals. Electronic Waste Recycling Day encourages people to follow the example of residents of Japan and other countries who are conscious about recycling devices and other equipment.
On September 12, 1978, a development plan for South-South International Technical Cooperation was signed in Buenos Aires. Representatives of 138 developing countries of the world took part in the signing of the document. The term “South-South” was not chosen by chance and denotes high-tech and resource exchange between the countries of the global South, which includes Africa, Latin America and Asia. Thanks to the signed program, the transition economies of such countries have the opportunity to accelerate development and growth. The day marked by the signing of such an important document for developing countries was first celebrated on December 19. This date was set by UN General Assembly resolution 58/220. According to the new UN resolution 66/550 of December 22, 2011, it was decided to celebrate the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation on September 12. According to the signed Argentine agreement, the main problems of African, Latin American and Asian countries, the solution of which requires international efforts, are: • changes in climatic conditions and environmental factors; • food security; global poverty; • migration growth; • fight against AIDS, HIV. The primary responsibility for implementing the South-South cooperation plan rests with developing countries. And international assistance should not turn it into North-South cooperation. Traditionally, on September 12, conferences, seminars, and exhibitions dedicated to the problems of Africa, Asia and Latin America are held in many countries around the world. The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan was awarded a special UN South-South Prize for assistance and rational proposals within the framework of the program in 2007 for initiatives in the field of mining. In 2014, the President of Tajikistan received it for his valuable contribution to solving water supply problems. Examples of international interaction within the framework of the South-South cooperation program. Diverse and multifactorial South-South cooperation affects all spheres of people’s lives, from political and cultural to economic and technical: Today, trilateral cooperation in the program is most often practiced, which includes donor states, as well as various funds and organizations. It is implemented through financial investments, training, introduction of technologies and management mechanisms. An example of such collaboration is the rapid response and assistance in containing and combating COVID-19 between the UN Focal Point for the Promotion and Facilitation of South-South Cooperation and the India-UN Partnership Fund. Another example is a project to improve the qualifications of doctors in Vietnam, which was implemented with the support of the UN and the India, Brazil and South Africa Foundation. An organization such as the Islamic Development Bank is also providing assistance in the fight against the pandemic in African and Asian countries. Russia actively promotes the development of countries whose economies are in transition. Shares practical knowledge in the field of natural resource extraction, trains specialists, and makes a great contribution to the development of the medical component and the nuclear energy sector in such countries. 50% of the global economic growth comes from the countries of the South. A 25% share of exports and imports in world trade is made up of goods from the countries of the South. Global investments owe a third of their volume to these countries.
The state provides protection to employees of the Russian Armed Forces who took part in the fight against terrorism, and to persons who collaborated with foreign intelligence. The main category of citizens whose security is ensured are witnesses to crimes, whose testimony is the basis of the evidence base in a criminal case. If necessary, protection is provided to their loved ones and relatives who are under pressure in the form of an unlawful attack. The state ensures the safety of judges and prosecutors if they are exposed to threats related to their professional activities. The main way to help and support all of the listed categories of citizens is the personal protection of a person, his property and housing. For these purposes, in 2008, the Office for Ensuring the Security of Persons Subject to State Protection was established. The date of the professional holiday of UOGZ employees was September 12 - the day of the appearance of a new unit in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The protection of human life and health, as well as his property, is carried out with the voluntary consent of the citizen. The choice of protective measures, such as issuing body armor or weapons, installing an alarm system in the house or changing housing, depends on the degree and nature of the incoming threats. The citizen is assigned a security guard who accompanies him during investigative actions, on the way from home to work and back. In order to create safe living conditions, a person under the protection of UOGZ units may be limited in communication with others, transferred to another place of service or study. The protected person is given identification documents with a new full name and date of birth, and undergoes plastic surgery to change his appearance. If a citizen is in custody or serving time in a colony, he is transferred to another pre-trial detention center or institution of the FSIN system. In practice, the use of any of the listed measures is necessarily accompanied by operational search activities. Employees of UOGZ units constantly monitor and strengthen protection methods, prevent information leakage, and monitor the arrival of new threats against the entrusted person. The measures taken against participants in criminal proceedings and their relatives, judges, investigators and prosecutors are necessary for the normal functioning of the justice authorities in the Russian Federation. Special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs do an excellent job of ensuring the safety of persons subject to state protection, whose employees celebrate their professional holiday on September 12.
On this date, Orthodox Christians pay tribute to the memory of Prince Alexander Nevsky - the defender of the Russian land, St. Alexander, Reverend Alexander of Svir. Popularly, September 12 is also called Sytnik or Svytnik, since it was on this day that, after strict fasting that fell on the previous day, it was customary to set a generous table - prepare hearty porridges and freshly baked bread from the collected and ground grain harvest.

Orthodox holidays September 12:
On March 17, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the holy noble prince Daniel of Moscow, whose holy relics are kept in the Danilov Monastery in Moscow. The future saint was born into the family of the famous Prince Alexander Nevsky in the ancient majestic city of Vladimir. But the youngest of four brothers was not destined to remember his great parent, having lost his father at the age of two. After the division of his father's inheritance by his older brothers, Daniel received the small Principality of Moscow, which until then had been ruled only by governors. Upon arrival in Moscow, the young prince saw the neglect and insignificance of the city. First of all, he decides to build a monastery in the principality. On the banks of the Moscow River a temple and monastery were built in honor of the Monk Daniel the Stylite. The activity of the faithful was based exclusively on mercy and Christian virtues, which was not typical for rulers during internecine wars. In 1293, the prince allowed refugees from Russian cities devastated by the alliance of his brother Andrei and the Horde into Moscow. Together with the rescued and ordinary Moscow people, Daniil Alexandrovich experienced all the hardships of the enemy attack, preserving the fragile peace and the lives of the Orthodox. After the destruction of Moscow, the prince divides his property with the townspeople and begins the restoration of the city. Moscow, of which only ashes remained, was rebuilt in just a year. The saint was distinguished by his courage and desire for justice; in 1300 he opposed the Ryazan ruler Constantine, who had stained himself with connections with the Tatars. Daniel defeats the mixed troops of the Ryazan principality, exterminating many Horde soldiers, but refuses to appropriate the conquered lands and rich booty. And he makes the captive Konstantin a guest of his lands, thereby strengthening peaceful relations with Ryazan. Wise rule makes the Moscow principality one of the most significant. This was especially facilitated by the expansion of the boundaries of the principality after Daniel received the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky as an inheritance from his uncle Ivan Dmitrievich. Before his death, the Moscow ruler comes to the monastery and accepts the great schema, bequeathing to bury his remains within the walls of the monastery. Muscovites mourned the death of their ruler as if they were their own father. But after only 30 years, the name of Daniil Alexandrovich and his great deeds were forgotten, and the faithful reminded of himself by appearing to one of the close associates of Tsar John III. Daniel reproached his descendant for forgetfulness and neglect of his great family. After what happened, John ordered requiem services to be served in honor of the ancestors, and when miraculous healings began to occur at Daniel’s grave, it was decided to hold an annual religious procession to the holy remains. Under Tsar Alexei Romanovich, the relics of the beneficent prince were discovered, which remained incorrupt. Daniel was canonized, and his relics were solemnly transferred to the monastery cathedral.
