Holidays 11 october
Have you ever thought about how many girls live on planet Earth? Girls are female children who have not reached adulthood. It turns out that there are about 20% of them on Earth - that’s more than one billion. And every girl, absolutely every girl, has her own life with her own problems, thoughts, seemingly hopeless situations. And of course, every girl overcomes them during her life’s journey - some with the help of parents, friends, teachers or loved ones, while others have to be practically alone. The UN General Assembly declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl Child in 2011. This day was chosen to not only support and popularize girls' rights, but also to draw the world's attention to girls' problems. Every year on this day various events are held aimed at solving pressing problems of girls and teenage girls. Thus, each year a topic is chosen with which the public intends to work during the year. For example, in 2012 the problem of early marriages was raised, and 2013 was devoted to the educational environment of the younger generation. Issues of investment are raised, thanks to which it will be possible to solve such global problems as the possibility of self-education everywhere, personal development, the fight against violence and other problems among which every modern girl, young woman or future woman has to live. The UN advocates not to leave the issues of the younger generation without solutions, because they are the future of our planet. By being on the sidelines and not taking certain problems to heart, we deprive ourselves of the future. Healthy physically and emotionally girls and future women are the key to a healthy society in principle. And in order to ensure the future and happy prosperity of our children and grandchildren, we must take care of those around us today. Help and support them, protecting them from the harmful influence of certain social phenomena and motivating them to a healthy, intellectually and emotionally interesting lifestyle. In a word, on October 11 - on the International Day of the Girl, at least once a year, with your hand on your heart, it is worth taking seriously the pressing issues in the lives of girls and, if not at least helping to find a solution, then coordinating actions in such a way that every child knows where and who can provide him with this help? There are no other people's children, do not close your eyes to children's problems, even if they seem insignificant or unimportant to you.
The Russian bath gives positive emotions and good mood, strengthens the body and spirit. Washing and cleansing of the body takes place with the participation of masters who are representatives of one of the oldest professions. The master who runs the steam room knows the recipe for herbal infusions that make the air fragrant and healthy. The bathhouse attendant masters the art of massage with a broom, the type of which is selected depending on the desired effect.
Every year on October 11, Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union celebrate the national holiday Off-Road Day or Jeeper Day. The date October 11 was not chosen by chance. In 1913, on this day (which corresponded to September 29, old style), a competition of Russian motorists was held for the first time. They organized a two-mile race with obstacles while driving on a country road. At that time, well-known car brands took part in the competition. Further such races were held on country roads, rough terrain, along a circular asphalt or dirt track, in conditions of artificially created (embankments, potholes, holes) or natural off-road conditions (swamps, rivers, ravines, virgin snow, hummocks, deserts). Off-road driving brings racing excitement, adrenaline rush, pleasure and a lot of emotions to racers and extreme sports enthusiasts. At the same time, winning or entering the top three is not necessary. Even participation itself brings a special drive. In addition, the event, which is held with the participation of spectators, is dynamic and spectacular. Depending on the venue and other conditions, tens to hundreds of thousands of spectators watch it and bets are placed. For ordinary motorists, driving on an uneven road with potholes, irregularities, and obstacles is a terrible condition that causes fear for the condition of their personal equipment and their safety. There are cases when, when driving on a bad road, the muffler falls off and fasteners are lost. Such motorists prefer driving on smooth asphalt. Not only professional racers and fans of off-road, jeeping, autocross, trophy expeditions and other areas of sports or tourism celebrate Jeeper Day. Men and women who own a car, scooter, motorcycle, moped or even a bicycle can consider Off-Road Day as their holiday. Also, October 11 is a holiday for mothers with baby strollers, who often have to overcome off-road conditions in urban or rural areas. This is a holiday for all people who encounter uneven asphalt, the presence of water puddles on the sidewalk, and other obstacles on the road. All of them more than once had to overcome difficulties on rough terrain or on a dirt, asphalt road. And such trips or hikes were not always successful. In frequent cases, they were accompanied by falls, bruises, abrasions, dislocations and other injuries. On an off-road holiday, you can follow the ill-fated route more carefully or find a road with better conditions. Driving on off-road, bumpy and uneven terrain renders personal passenger transport unusable. Therefore, it is advisable to conduct competitions using specialized equipment with high performance properties and increased strength characteristics. Often competitions are held on go-karts, jeeps, all-terrain vehicles, amphibians, and off-road vehicles. People who want to experience the thrill of traveling on sandy or bumpy roads turn their attention to ATVs and other equipment designed for this purpose. All-terrain vehicles are suitable for overcoming bumpy roads, puddles, and mud. You can celebrate the holiday of off-road driving at a sports club, karting schools, and other establishments that offer rental services for powerful, off-road equipment. For those who want to relax in a normal atmosphere, relaxing in nature, with friends, acquaintances and relatives, is suitable. The weather at the beginning of October in most of the country is conducive to taking a walk in the forest, planting, or at the dacha. This can be a holiday with children and adults accompanied by pets. In this case, the holiday is accompanied by fun games, tournaments, and competitions. If it gets cold or rainy, you can celebrate the holiday in a cafe, at home, or in a bathhouse.
The basis of the philosophical teachings of the Celestial Empire is wu-sin - a five-member structure that determines the structure of the universe. According to it, man is a synthesis of 5 elements: fire, wood, water, metal and earth. The interaction of these elements ensures harmony of the body and mental state. Chinese medicine is based on metaphysical principles and spiritual and energetic practices. In addition to drugs made according to ancient recipes, acupuncture, wushu and qigong techniques, diet therapy, cauterization of acupuncture points, massage - tuina, gua sha and other types - are used to treat the patient. Due to a shortage of qualified specialists, a system of teachings and healing practices was created in the PRC in the 1950s based on ancient sources that have survived to this day. One of the main ones are the treatises of the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (259-210 BC). In them and other philosophical works, man is considered as a synthesis of yang and yin, an integral part of nature, an organic whole of tissues and organs, internal communications between which is provided by Qi energy flowing along the meridians. Today, Chinese medicine is represented by more than 300 thousand specialists working in 183 countries. The annual volume of the global market for services in this field of activity is $50 billion. The effectiveness of using ancient techniques in the treatment of diseases of varying severity and etiology has been proven in practice. Therefore, the participants of the XV International Conference on Traditional Chinese Medicine, held in Italy, decided to establish a holiday. The initiative of scientists from 30 regions and countries was supported by WHO. World Chinese Medicine Day is celebrated on October 11 every year. The basis of traditional practices common in the Celestial Empire is not the elimination of the symptoms of the disease, but the eradication of its cause. For this purpose, Chinese medicine uses pharmacological agents of plant and animal origin, inorganic substances - mercury, sulfur, etc. More than 10 thousand types of medicines are sold on the domestic market of the People's Republic of China, some of which are exported to 160 countries around the world. In the process of treating a patient, herbal medicine is combined with acupuncture, breathing exercises, an-mo acupressure, restrictions on eating excessively hot or cold food, and lifestyle changes on the recommendation of a doctor. Traditional medicine of the People's Republic of China is an integral part of the national health care system. Doctors' services are available to all citizens of the country. Patients have the opportunity to choose between a doctor of traditional or European medicine with its innovative technologies and modern developments. If desired, the patient can combine the help of different specialists. In March 2015, the World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, headquartered in Beijing, established official relations with WHO. Its chairman She Jing believes that the high effectiveness of methods for the prevention and treatment of diseases is one of the arguments for the introduction of Chinese medicine into the healthcare of other countries. So far it is present in the insurance system of 18 countries. Chinese traditional medicine is a clear illustration of the expression: “Everything new is well forgotten old.” 1.4 billion people use ancient methods for disease prevention and therapy. The popularization of traditional methods of treatment in China is facilitated by both the adoption of the “Declaration of Rome” on the training of medical personnel, the development of pharmacology and the expansion of the scope of application of medical techniques, and the annual celebration of World Day of Chinese Medicine.
The hot and stuffy summer is replaced by cool autumn days. They delight the eye with the bright and rich colors of the foliage on the trees, which gradually turns from yellow and orange to copper-red. Autumn is mushroom rains, cool morning fogs, dew lying on the threads of the forest cobwebs. The fresh, crisp October air carries the smell of fallen leaves, damp grass and dying fires.
According to statistics, every fifth inhabitant of the Earth overcomes moderate or severe pain every day. Because of this, people cannot lead a normal life. Patients of doctors experiencing chronic pain suffer from disturbances in sleep and wakefulness, depression, lack of appetite, and the inability to do what they love and pay attention to loved ones. Obtaining pain medications is a vital necessity for those diagnosed with physical ailments of varying severity. However, not all people have the opportunity to purchase or receive medications. Painkillers are often unavailable to citizens of developing countries and residents of countries where legislation strictly regulates the circulation of potent medications. International organizations have drawn attention to this fact. Therefore, October 11 is celebrated as World Pain Day. Lectures, seminars, round tables and other events are held to draw the attention of public organizations, medical institutions and health care authorities to this global problem. Physical suffering and emotional reactions to painful sensations in organs and various parts of the body make life unbearable for people with chronic diseases. This category includes oncology patients and HIV-infected patients, victims of car accidents and man-made disasters, and children born with genetic abnormalities. Taking painkillers is an integral part of their lives. Therefore, such people should have access to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), strong opioids, non-narcotic analgesics and other drugs. The world community first celebrated Global Day Against Pain in 2004 on the initiative of WHO and the International Association for the Study of Pain. 4 years before this event, representatives of the organization came up with an important initiative, formalizing it in the form of a declaration. The association proposed that alleviation of the suffering people experience from pain should be included in the list of fundamental human rights. Her initiative was supported by WHO. The first step towards attracting public attention to this problem was the holding of the European Week Against Pain in 2004. The international association, which consists of doctors, scientists and medical professionals from 95 countries, was founded in 1973. Over the years of its existence, many studies have been conducted on acute and chronic, i.e. pain lasting more than 3 months. Patients turn to doctors for treatment, but in most cases it has no effect. International experts have come to the conclusion that about 20% of the planet's inhabitants suffer from painful sensations in the body that last for months, of which 10% are unable to cope with the problem on their own. These people should have access to painkillers regardless of their standard of living, social status or severity of their condition. Chronic pain is accompanied by arthrosis of the intervertebral joints, disc herniations and other degenerative diseases of the spine. Patients of doctors with these and other pathologies over time cease to be a full-fledged part of society: they are deprived of their usual circle of friends, lose their jobs or switch to less paid ones, and suffer from breakdowns in relationships with loved ones. Therefore, scientists insist that pain is a social problem. People suffering from torment need not only medications, but also the help of psychologists and psychotherapists. World Pain Day draws attention to these and other aspects of the problem of getting rid of pain, the availability of the opportunity to receive medical advice and medications.
This region is home to friendly and hardworking people, whose origins are associated with the Turkic tribes that settled Siberia and Central Asia more than a thousand years ago. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Supreme Council declared the independence of the republic. Based on the decision of this authority, on October 11, 1990, the Declaration of Sovereignty of the Bashkir SSR was adopted.
Obesity in the 21st century has become a global problem that affects the adult and child population of most countries. Excess weight is a burden not only on the spine and vital systems of the body, but also on the public health care system. Obesity significantly worsens a person's quality of life and reduces its duration. Overweight women have problems with fertility, and men have problems with reproductive function. March 4 is World Obesity Day, which is intended to draw attention to this pathology and the need to prevent the disease. The first World Obesity Day took place in 2015. Since then, annual events have been dedicated to a specific topic related to high body mass index. Thus, in 2016, the problem of childhood obesity was considered, and a year later - treatment and prevention of excess weight gain. Until 2020, World Obesity Day, which was initiated by The World Obesity Federation with the support of WHO, fell on October 11. All their statements and resolutions were widely covered and continue to be covered by the scientific medical journal The Lancet. Today, the date for conferences, seminars and other events dedicated to obesity and related problems is March 4. But some people celebrate it twice a year - also on October 11th. A high body mass index, as studies have shown, does not depend on the economic indicators of life and social status of citizens of a particular state. Up to 25% of teenagers from developed countries (USA, Canada, UK, Ireland) suffer from excess weight, 15% of them are diagnosed with obesity. No less high indicators are demonstrated by countries with a low standard of living - Taiwan, Brazil, Egypt, the Cook Islands, and India. Scientists call for attention to the fact that in children under 6 years of age who were overweight, in 50% of cases obesity is diagnosed in adulthood. Obese people suffer from diabetes, musculoskeletal diseases, cardiovascular pathologies and oncology. The accumulation of excess fat in the body leads to a decrease in physical activity, which means a slowdown in metabolic processes in the body. An overweight person has a lot of reasons to be dissatisfied with his own appearance, which negatively affects the functioning of the central nervous system, causes complexes and creates psychological problems. The World Obesity Federation was created quite a long time ago - in 1974. Despite this, today a high body mass index is observed in 1/3 of the world's population. According to WHO observations, obesity has become a global pandemic since 1997. In order to combat it, doctors in all countries of the world carry out educational work with the population, talking about the causes and consequences of the disease. These events do not stop for a single day throughout the year, but the education of doctors takes on special activity and significance - World Obesity Day.
