Holidays 3 october
The professional holiday is celebrated on October 3 by employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation serving in the special unit of the Russian Guard OMON. On October 3, 1988, the first OMON groups were organized in 14 regions of the RSFSR and 3 republics that were part of the former USSR (Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus). By the end of the twentieth century, there were units in all regions of Russia. Special forces officers are highly qualified fighters whose impeccable training is beyond doubt. Their priority is to resolve conflicts in conditions that pose a threat to human life. Special forces soldiers are distinguished by good health, a high level of military training, strong moral principles, courage and dedication. Riot police officers know how to make decisions in extreme conditions; the most ordinary working day of a soldier consists of a series of emergency situations. When the police cannot cope with the scale, special forces come to the rescue. Capturing and eliminating terrorists and especially dangerous criminals, supporting traffic police posts, ensuring order during public events: football matches, rallies, concerts - riot police are present everywhere. Security and law enforcement in “hot spots” are also the prerogative of special forces. Riot policemen are always one step ahead: they are better armed, their military and physical training surpasses all other units. The riot police's arsenal, in addition to the standard AK-74U and AK-74M assault rifles, includes sniper rifles and armored personnel carriers. Men from 20 to 32 years old who have served in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces can join the ranks of special forces soldiers. A medical commission is required, which includes a number of psychological tests; in addition, physical fitness standards are required. Those who successfully pass the first tests are sent to a special unit for 4 months, where they study the weapons used in riot police, delve into legal training and learn the secrets of close combat. Particular attention is paid to clearing buildings and carrying out various operations in urban environments. October 3 is a solemn day for every riot police officer and for members of their families. The best are awarded medals, titles and words of gratitude. On this day we remember those who gave their lives in the struggle for peace. Veterans are honored with memorable gifts. Festive concerts and entertainment programs are organized for special forces employees.
Alcohol abuse leads to cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, strokes and other diseases, including oncology - cirrhosis of the liver, cancer of the throat, esophagus and rectum. The consequences of alcoholism are memory impairment and cognitive impairment, neurological complications and antisocial behavior. Drinkers live 10-15 years less than abstainers.
Every year, on October 3, all residents of German cities celebrate a significant event - the Day of German Unity. All of Germany becomes so festive and musical. On the streets you can see both representatives of the older generation and the youngest residents of a huge sovereign state. It is this date in the German calendar that marks the completion of the division of Germany into the GDR and the Federal Republic of Germany. As soon as the Second World War (Great Patriotic War) ended, the territory of vast Germany was completely and irrevocably divided into eastern (GDR) and western (FRG). For the indigenous inhabitants of the defeated power, this was a crushing blow. Indeed, in essence, people living in the same territory could no longer consider themselves full citizens of one (integral) state. Everything changed after 4 decades, or rather in 1990. It was then that Germany was able to once again become a united country, both for its many citizens and for the world community as a whole. The process of reunification began with the “collapse of the Berlin Wall.” In fact, this became the starting point for the reconstruction of a huge and powerful state in Europe. Of course, everything did not happen as smoothly as many expected, but the result of the events that took place in the nineties of the last century can now be observed by every inhabitant of the planet. Germany as a state literally in 30 years has turned into a powerful economic power that can single-handedly “dictate” its terms to some less developed countries on the European continent. It was this day that became the last for the existence of the GDR (German Democratic Republic). And so this date was chosen as German Unity Day. The Germans, as everyone knows, are quite punctual people. Based on this, every significant event that occurred in the state is written down in the holiday calendar with German precision and punctuality. If we draw a parallel with the Russian New Year or the Day of the Great Victory over Fascism, then we can say with complete confidence that the Day of German Unity is celebrated quite modestly, even if it plays a significant (historical) role for the vast majority of Germans. The center of the celebration can rightfully be considered the capital of the state - Berlin. Huge crowds of Germans gather near the Bradenburg Gate, who with extraordinary joy and pride in their state listen to performances by famous artists and popular politicians and other personalities significant to the country. By evening, colorful laser shows take place in all the cities of the huge state and colorful fireworks light up the sky. There is another interesting and extremely important tradition for Germans. Every new year, a new place (a city in Germany) is officially selected to celebrate this significant date. This is being done in order to unite all citizens who quite recently (some 30 years ago) lived and existed separately from each other. The Chancellor of Germany comes to the selected city every New Year. Solemn speeches and slogans are made, as well as congratulations for the entire German people. On this day, it is customary to provide financial assistance to less protected sections of society, such as the disabled, pensioners, and orphans. Many restaurants and cafes offer significant discounts for each new customer. A festive menu is prepared so that every visitor remembers exactly the date of this grandiose (by German standards) celebration. We should not forget about the fact that this day is officially considered a day off for all working citizens of the state without exception.
Laughter is a demonstration of the liveliness of human thinking and tenacity of mind. However, these emotions are not always shown openly. In the explanatory dictionary V.I. Dahl contains the expression “laugh into a fist”. It is used to describe cases where a person, out of delicacy or for other reasons, hides his reaction.
Some scientists believe that people began to collect and eat chestnuts earlier than cereals. Before the advent of potatoes, they were the staple food for most of the population of modern France. The delicacy tastes like nuts and baked potatoes. But before you get on the roasting rack or an old frying pan with specially made holes, the chestnut fruits need to be found.
Films are made in Hollywood for a wide audience of viewers. Stories from the lives of peers are especially popular among teenagers from the United States and other countries of the world. One of them is "Mean Girls". A holiday has been established in honor of the youth comedy, the second part of which was filmed in 2011.
Collecting honey mushrooms, boletuses, chanterelles, morels, russula and milk mushrooms allows you to escape from everyday worries and feel one with nature. Autumn is the rainy season, after which mushrooms begin to grow faster. They are collected for themselves, for sale and simply for pleasure.
The holiday got its name due to the fact that at this time a strong wind often rose, and Orthodox Christians on this day honor the memory of St. Eustathius Placidas, who was one of the best Roman commanders. On Astafyev Day, work began on the windmills. Grains from the new harvest were used for grinding. On October 3, it is customary to celebrate the holiday of millers from windmills.
A touching and funny holiday encourages people to take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and pay attention to the beauty of autumn nature. October 3 is the perfect day to watch the dance of fallen leaves in the wind and appreciate how the raindrops lying on them intricately reflect everything around.

Orthodox holidays on October 3:
On October 3, the Orthodox Church remembers Saint Eustathius, his wife and sons. Before accepting Christianity, Eustathius bore the name Placidas. He was a rich and noble Roman commander who led a godly life. One day while hunting, a man was chasing a deer. Suddenly, between the horns of the animal, Placidas saw the crucified Jesus. Then he heard a voice calling him to join the Lord. The amazed Placidas returned home and, after consulting with his wife, was baptized. After the sacrament, he again had a vision in which the Lord warned him about the upcoming trials. At first, Eustathius went bankrupt: all his animals and servants died. Then the man decided to sail to Egypt. On the way, the owner of the ship was seduced by the beauty of the governor’s wife and dropped him and both sons off. Heartbroken, Eustathius set off on foot. On the road, first a wolf and then a lion stole his children. The man understood that all these misfortunes were sent to him to test his patience, and he humbly suffered. He did not yet know that the peasants had saved his children from the clutches of wild animals, and the owner of the ship immediately after the crime had been committed became seriously ill and died. Eustathius worked as an ordinary worker for 15 years. At this time, a war began in Rome and Emperor Trajan urgently needed a skilled commander. Remembering Eustathius, he sent people to search for him. The former governor was found and returned to service with honors. Two recruits appeared in Eustathius’s army. The commander himself respected these young people for their ingenuity and dexterity. One day, the warriors, having talked about their fate, realized that they were siblings, dragged away by wild animals. Their conversation was accidentally overheard by a woman working not far from them. This was their mother Theopistia, wife of Eustathius. Theopistia decided to go to the commander to ask permission to go on a campaign with her sons. Imagine her surprise when the woman recognized the governor as her husband! So the family endured much suffering and was reunited. At this time, Emperor Trajan died and was replaced by Adrian, who hated pious people. When he learned that his commander had returned victorious and his family had miraculously returned to him, he invited Eustathius to make a sacrifice to the pagan gods. The governor refused, believing that the Lord helped him. The angry emperor ordered the family to be thrown into a red-hot copper bull, where Eustathius, Theopistia and their children immediately gave up the ghost. After 3 days, the emperor wanted to look at the ashes of the family he killed. When the bull was opened, they saw that the bodies of Eustathius, Theopistia and their sons were not touched by fire. Many people who saw this believed in Christ. Christians buried the bodies of the martyrs with all honors. Saint Eustathius is considered the patron saint of hunters. The glorious commander and his family are an example of the fact that all trials are sent by the Lord to strengthen our spirit.
