Holidays 6 march
Dentistry is a very ancient profession, but even today this high-tech branch of medicine does not stand still. New materials and treatment methods appear almost every day. Dentistry is one of the oldest medical specialties. Oral hygiene has always been a source of trouble for people and a subject of great interest to doctors throughout human history. The first dentist in human history lived and practiced in Egypt around 2600 BC. Modern dentistry emerged in the late 17th century, although the lack of anesthesia and sophisticated equipment forced a person to go through painful agony of treatment. Today, dentists are an important part of the healthcare system of any country. In addition to caring for people with dental problems, dentists perform surgeries to correct misaligned teeth and other problems affecting the jaws and mouth. March 6 is traditionally celebrated as International Dentist Day and is becoming increasingly popular around the globe. This date was adopted due to the fact that on this day in 1790 the first burr was created by an American dentist. This landmark international event in the dental community's calendar provides an opportunity to raise awareness. The global initiative hopes to contribute to increasing the number of people free of health problems. This is very important since 90% of the world's population suffers from oral disease during their lifetime. In addition, International Dentist Day promotes dental and hygiene prevention measures to help reduce the global burden of disease. If you haven't seen your dentist in a while, use this day to make an appointment. Thank your dentist for his care and skill by sending him a thank-you note or a small gift. On this day, people try to have fun by laughing and smiling!
This holiday is dedicated to lovers and connoisseurs of delicious food. The birthplace of Gourmet Day is France. The term "gourmet" is also borrowed from the French language. The French know a lot about food and love to cook. Even the most risky food combinations turn out remarkably tasty.
The blue bird with bright plumage is painted by artists and sung in poetry by poets and musicians. In European legends there is a magical Blue Bird. It was believed that dreamers whose thoughts were pure and aimed at the benefit of people could visit her monastery.
In March 1973, in the USSR, in order to promote compliance with traffic rules, special detachments of children and teenagers were formed. Young inspectors helped traffic police officers in carrying out various public events and conducted explanatory work among their peers. The movement did not cease to exist despite the collapse of the Soviet Union. And today young people take part in promotions, thematic competitions ("Safe Wheel"), quizzes and other events aimed at their knowledge of traffic rules. On March 6, the Day of All-Russian teams of young traffic inspectors is celebrated throughout the country. The ideological inspirer of the YID was Larisa Nikolaevna Ovcharenko (Medvedeva), an employee of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs. On her initiative, detachments of inspectors began to be created in the country and annual gatherings were held in the Orlyonok camp, located in Tuapse. For the first time, the winners of local UID competitions came to the Black Sea coast in 1975. 870 schoolchildren from 72 regions of the Soviet Union met at the gathering. YID members, like other road users, had their own vehicle. It was a bicycle. Each young inspector had to have a good knowledge of the vehicle design, possess the skills of maintenance and troubleshooting. The tradition of holding rallies in camps on the Black Sea, as well as celebrating March 4, the day the units were created, continues today. Young inspectors not only know the traffic rules well. The children willingly help their peers study them and are always ready to remind adults about the culture of behavior on the road. On March 6, promotions, flash mobs, marathons (for example, “Safe Country of UID”), competitions and quizzes among supporters of the movement dedicated to traffic rules are held throughout the country. In 2019, the All-Russian Youth Forum was held for the first time, which brought together activists from 73 regions of the country. But long before this, in 2002, teams of inspectors from Russia began to take part in the European educational competition for knowledge of traffic rules, becoming winners of the competition. UID athletes from the Russian Federation were placed on the highest step of the podium in 2010 and 2011, and consolidated their success in 2015 and 2018. There are teams of inspectors in every region of Russia. More than 370 thousand schoolchildren not only learn traffic rules, but also master the skills of helping victims of road accidents and take part in socially significant events. UID students interestingly and clearly tell their peers about traffic rules, teach them to be responsible, attentive and careful on the roads. The activities of the teams contribute to the prevention of child injuries in road accidents and reduce the number of incidents. YID is a training school for the transport sector and traffic police: after receiving secondary education, many guys from inspector teams go to work for the State Traffic Inspectorate. The 1973 initiative to promote traffic rules among young people has still not lost its relevance. That is why such great importance is attached to the celebration of the Day of All-Russian detachments of young traffic inspectors.
The European Day of the Righteous, celebrated annually on March 6, appeared in the world relatively recently. The European Parliament in 2013 established this day of remembrance for people who opposed totalitarianism, dictatorship and crimes against humanity. This is an International holiday, it unites absolutely all residents, calls to remember the people who risked themselves for the lives of others. The Israeli museum-memorial Yad Vashem, created in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, was the first to introduce such a concept as “righteousness” among nations. Moreover, initially the concept applied only to those people (not Jews) who saved Jews from the Nazis during the Holocaust, risking their lives. The Nazis very cruelly punished (by death) not only the saviors, but also their families. However, despite everything, the righteous continued to help and save. One of the most striking examples of the righteous is, of course, the German industrialist Oskar Schindler. Although officially the list includes more than 26 thousand people from 51 countries. The former chairman of the commission of the righteous, Moshe Beisky (saved by Schindler), expanded the list of the righteous to all cases of totalitarianism, dictatorship and forms of genocide. On the anniversary of his death, the European Day of the Righteous is celebrated as a way to honor the loyalty and memory of Moshe. This day pays tribute to those who saved lives not only during the Holocaust, but also other mass murders, crimes against humanity, and genocides, both in the 20th and 21st centuries. Moreover, the number of lives saved does not matter at all - thousands or just one. Each recognized righteous person at the award ceremony receives a certificate and a medal, on which the famous inscription from the Torah is engraved in French and Hebrew: “He who saves one life will save the whole world.” The same words were on the ring that was presented to Oskar Schindler on behalf of the entire Jewish people. This is a holiday of memory and sorrow, pride and dedication, courage and valor, courage and self-sacrifice of the righteous who saved hundreds of thousands of innocent lives. Completely different people, different professions, belonging to completely different social strata took part in the rescue: members of royal families and ordinary villagers, priests, fishermen, officials, diplomats, teachers, peasants, military men, artists and scientists and many others. The European Day of the Righteous on March 6 united all saviors, regardless of occupation and religion, in the face of totalitarianism and crimes against humanity, emphasizing that there are no barriers to human kindness.
March 6 (February 21, old style) according to the folk calendar, Timofey Vesnovei is celebrated. The commemoration of St. Timothy of Olympia in the church on this day was reflected in the name of the national holiday. The saint was born in Italy and from a young age devoted his life to the Lord. When he was young, he swore not to look at women’s faces in order to become closer to God. In a monastery in Asia Minor, Timothy learned the teachings from the abbot of the monastery, Theoktistus, and his successor, Plato of Studius. For his efforts, the Lord rewarded Timothy with the gift of healing those with illnesses and the ability to cast out demons from the body. The saint spent most of his life as a hermit in the deserts, for which he was called the hermit. Among the people, warm air masses came to Timothy Spring, bringing real spring. The days were getting longer, and the sun's rays were already warming everything around. Elderly people left their huts and went outside to bask in the sun's rays, believing that this would give them health after prolonged frosts. Sitting on benches, the old people exchanged news and told fairy tales to the children playing nearby. From the day of Timothy, the movement of sap in the trees began. Therefore, we tried to prepare supplies of firewood from birch and maple in advance. Cutting down trees that had come back to life after winter was considered a sin. With the onset of spring, evil spirits awakened. She was driven away with the help of ritual fires lit on a hill. By jumping over fires and dancing in circles, peasants were cleansed of sins and illnesses. Livestock was kept near the fires to protect them from the harmful influence of evil spirits. The fire from the ritual fire was carried on torches throughout the gardens to ward off evil spirits. The women spent the day cleaning: sweeping and washing the floors. Houses were emptied of old unnecessary things, believing that evil spirits settled in the trash. It was forbidden for Timofey Vesnovey to abandon unfinished business and drink alcohol, otherwise trouble would happen. The coming spring was determined by this day. If the wind was observed from the south, we prepared for warm weather, from the north - for cooling, and from the east - for early spring. The earlier spring came, the earlier autumn came. The return of migratory birds predicted warmer weather, and a white hare in the field heralded more snowfalls.
US Holidays - National Frozen Food Day
Vijaya Ekadashi is a special day that allows you to improve your quality of life, get rid of a lot of problems and difficulties, and gain new strength to achieve generous deeds. It is celebrated in India every year and falls on the 11th day after the full moon and new moon of each month of the lunar calendar. This event has always been awaited by many famous historical figures, including Krishna, Brahma, Rama, Narada Muni, etc. You can find out the exact date of the holiday using the lunar calendar. It usually falls in February-March. Ekadashi is a time of spiritual practices and abstinence from food. It is during this period that waste and toxins are most effectively removed from the human body. In addition to this, there is a spiritual influence. Fasting on these days will significantly improve your health. Every year Ekadashi becomes more and more relevant not only in India, but also far beyond the country’s borders. This is due to the fact that the current state of the environment and the lifestyle of modern people are in disharmony. As a result, this leads to various complications of a physiological and psycho-emotional nature. Therapeutic fasting under the supervision of a specialist today is actively used not only for preventive and therapeutic purposes. It also helps improve performance and rejuvenate the body. The miraculous effect is achieved due to the fact that hunger forces the body to activate reserve (reserve) forces to restore natural metabolic processes and cleanse toxic substances. First of all, this applies to various pathologies, for example, salt deposits, cellulite formations, etc. Cleansing itself of toxins, the body adapts to the internal type of nutrition through the breakdown of its own proteins, carbohydrates and fats. By following simple rules during Ekadashi, you can significantly improve your health. The morning must begin with shower procedures, and throughout the fast, keep the body and thoughts clean and calm. The main thing to realize is that fasting is not just about abstaining from food or certain foods. If at this time a person does not adhere to moral and ethical standards or gives vent to anger, it means that in reality he is not fasting, but simply not eating. You need to get ready for fasting by first agreeing with yourself. You should avoid sleeping during the day, rubbing with oil, and shaving. If you have excluded not all food from your diet, but only some foods, try to eat once a day, after 12 noon. You need to break the fast in the morning on the second day, 3 hours after sunrise. The initial meal should contain fresh fruits (or juices). During fasting, the stomach stops working, so consuming heavy food can lead to disruption of the entire body. The list of permitted products includes the following items: - clean water; - fresh fruits and dried fruits; - nuts (other than peanuts); - dairy products; - vegetables; - sugar of any kind; - buckwheat; - olive oil. In addition to its physiological effect, Ekadashi has the ability to cleanse the body of negative energy clots that form if a person commits bad deeds. Thus, the fast observed during the Ekadashi period is focused not only on the physical structure, but also on the spiritual and energetic. Therapeutic fasting is the first sure step towards a clean and healthy life.
Orthodox holidays on March 6:
In the Orthodox church calendar there are dates dedicated to the veneration of miraculous icons. One of these days is March 6 - the Holiday in honor of the Kozelshchansky Icon of the Mother of God. The origin of the icon from the Hodegetria icon painting type is presumably Italian, since its first known owner was an Italian lady-in-waiting at the court of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. The girl became the wife of a military clerk from Zaporozhye, and thus the icon came to Little Russia and became a family heirloom of the Kapnist count family. The shrine with the image of the Virgin Mary and the baby Jesus with a cross in his right hand protected family members, they turned to it with prayers for God’s mercy, and one day the icon showed its miraculous power. In 1881, on March 5, the daughter of Count Vladimir Kapnist, Maria, received healing after a year of painful illness. In the spring of 1880, the girl’s leg began to hurt and fail; visits to doctors did not yield positive results, and moreover, Maria’s second leg began to fail. All that the medicine of that time could advise was to shackle sore legs in iron shoes to keep the joints and bones in a constant position. The famous Moscow doctor remained Maria’s only hope for a cure, but the girl was so exhausted from visiting doctors that before the long journey she wished to stay at her native estate in the village of Kozelshchina, where the shrine of the Kapnist family was kept. While in agonizing anticipation, the sick girl turned with humble prayer to the images of the Mother of God and the baby Jesus and gradually cleaned the robe of the icon. After this action, Maria felt that the illness that had tormented her for more than a year had receded, the pain had disappeared, and her sore legs were filled with strength. The girl shared her joy with her mother and father, but Count Vladimir still insisted on a visit to the famous doctor. Imagine his surprise when the Moscow hospital confirmed that his daughter’s health was not in danger. Everything that happened was recorded in the family tradition of the Kapnist family. After a miraculous healing, a wooden chapel was built for the holy image in the village of Kozelshchina, and then in its place the stone Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which was later converted into a convent. The family heirloom of the Kapnist counts was in the church until 1929, and after the destruction of the monastery by the Bolsheviks, it had to be kept secretly by former nuns and believers. In 1993, the reopened monastery was opened, and the saved icon again took its original place of honor within the walls of the temple. On the occasion of the return of the shrine, Archbishop Feodosius of Poltava and Kremenchug held church celebrations.
