Russian Holidays - Crane Operator Day (Crane Driver Day) in Russia

June 4 in Russia is an occasion to congratulate people who have chosen a responsible and, moreover, well-paid job. They are not afraid of heights and can easily carry multi-ton loads from place to place. These people are crane operators. Their professional holiday still exists at an unofficial level, but with the help of an initiative group, work is underway to recognize Crane Operator Day at the state level. Everyone is accustomed to thinking that cranes are used only on construction sites. In fact, the need for them arises wherever the cargo cannot be handled without the use of cargo equipment. Previously, people of this profession did not have their own holiday, and therefore they celebrated it together with builders in August. In 2017, the Vershina company, which supplies cranes for the construction of facilities in the North-West region, decided that crane operators deserve their own special holiday and took the initiative to recognize June 4 as Crane Operator Day. The choice of date was due to the fact that it was on June 4, 2014, that the Ministry of Justice promulgated an order on professional standards for this profession. Crane operators really deserve special thanks and congratulations for their work, because their work is not as easy as everyone thinks. Their working day is spent at altitude in uncomfortable living conditions, and sometimes the weather can cause some inconvenience. Despite these difficulties, they must do their job correctly, because the safety of the cargo, and sometimes human lives, depends on every movement of the crane operator. Today, the profession of a crane operator is in demand, and you can get it by completing professional courses or a vocational school. However, to be able to work on a crane, you need to meet standards and have excellent mental and physical health. Thanks to the Internet and social networks, more and more people involved in this profession are learning about Crane Operator Day. It is possible that unofficial recognition of the holiday will force the authorities to make June 4 Crane Operator Day.
