Holidays of Russia - Day of reunification of Crimea with Russia

One of the memorable holidays in our time is March 18, the Day of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, celebrated since 2014. 1991, collapse of the USSR. On a contractual basis, Ukraine took Crimea under its rule. 2014, political collapse, civil coup, the government of Crimea decided to submit a request to the Russian President for reunification with the Russian Federation. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (President of the Russian Federation) made a positive decision. On March 18 of that year in Moscow, an agreement was signed with the administration of Crimea. After 3 days, the law on accession was issued. On March 15, 2015, the premiere of a documentary film entitled “Crimea. The Way to the Homeland” by Andrei Kondrashov based on the script by Olga Demina, which tells about those events. This film received an award: TEFI Special Prize for understanding modern history. These lands have been primordially Russian since the years of military glory. Since then, Crimeans have been rooted in the Russian Federation, therefore, every year, this still “young” holiday will be celebrated, each time on a large scale on all the streets of the republic! Banners, flags, balloons and fireworks, performances by famous artists and congratulations from the president, every March 18th of the year. On March 3, 2015, this holiday was approved as a day off for celebration on the territory of the republic, in accordance with Law No. 80-ZRK/2015. It was proposed to declare this day an all-Russian holiday. No one will forget how Crimea, Sevastopol and Moscow celebrated this day for the first time. Large-scale processions along the main streets. Tens of thousands of people united, everyone had an unforgettable smile on their faces, everyone sang the anthem of Sevastopol and rejoiced like children. Everyone celebrated until late at night. It all ended with performances by Russian Federation stars and fireworks. This celebration will always be associated with victory.
