Holidays of Azerbaijan - Day of Diplomatic Service Officers

Azerbaijan, like other countries and republics of the world, has its own national events. This list includes the “Day of Azerbaijani Diplomatic Service Employees”. In short, it is “Diplomat Day”. It is celebrated every year on July 9th. “Diplomat Day” refers to professional holidays. It is dedicated to the work of Azerbaijani diplomats. It was officially proclaimed quite recently, namely in 2007. The “Day of Azerbaijani Diplomatic Service Employees” was proclaimed thanks to the decree of the fourth president. The decree dates back to August 2007. In it, Ilham Heydar Aliyev noted the importance of diplomats. He emphasized the invaluable contribution of national diplomacy to the creation of the world's first Muslim Democratic Republic, as well as to the establishment of its firm independence. The main culprits of the “Day of Azerbaijani Diplomatic Service Employees” are diplomats, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, starting from managers, senior officials and ending with ordinary employees. Although the history of this holiday does not last long, certain traditions and rules of celebration have already been established. According to them, every year on July 9, representatives of the diplomatic services of Baku go to the Walk of Honor to honor the memory of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers on his grave. Also, every year on the eve of “Diplomat Day” or immediately after it, it is customary to hold a meeting of the heads of the republic’s diplomatic services. The most important issues regarding foreign policy are resolved there. Today, Azerbaijan is part of international diplomacy. He did not achieve this achievement the easy way. Now Azerbaijani diplomats continue to work hard to make the Republic of Azerbaijan even more significant at the international level. So these people deserved their professional holiday, just as they deserved congratulations with gifts from colleagues, relatives, and close people. Azerbaijanis throughout the world have been famous for their hospitality since ancient times. This republic is unusually rich in national customs. When celebrating the Day of Diplomatic Service Employees, as with any other national holiday, one should not forget about the traditions of Azerbaijan: Despite the importance of diplomats’ activities, their professional holiday is not a non-working day. Unless “Azerbaijan Diplomatic Service Employees Day” falls on a day off (Saturday, Sunday).
