Harmony is the key to balance, mutual respect, self-knowledge, and integrity of development to achieve the ideal. The coherence of sounds is a necessary condition for the euphony of musical works, the unity of colors - paintings. The consistency of the inner world and experiences with events and people from the outside is the key to mental balance and deep orderliness of a person. A holiday was established in honor of the philosophical category, which reflects the natural nature of the development of all things, the integrity of form and content. June 18 is World Harmony Day. The purpose of the celebration is to develop and maintain peace on Earth. The holiday encourages everyone to look at themselves from the outside, try to achieve consistency of thoughts and actions, and become more perfect and harmonious. In honor of World Day, a race is held for professionals and amateurs who have an active life position and adhere to the ideas of humanism, brotherhood and equality of people. The holiday appeared thanks to the start back in 1987 of the international relay race in honor of friendship and mutual understanding “Peace Run”. The initiator of the movement was Sri Chinmoy, a famous public figure, philosopher, poet and athlete from India. The main theme of his poems is the dream of human society achieving harmony and creating a perfect world. In the first year, residents from more than 100 countries took part in the torch passing event, and in 1991, from the Russian Federation. Russian runners annually cover thousands of kilometers of distance, moving in three directions - the Volga, Northern and Crimean branches. In 2005-2013 On the territory of the Russian Federation, the relay race, supported by the Committee for Culture and Sports, was held under the name “World Harmony Run”. With this name, the organizers of the action emphasized the importance of human spiritual development, the need to achieve balance and mutual understanding between people from different countries. The large-scale Peace Run project was supported at various times by celebrities: black rights activist Nelson Mandela, chess player Anatoly Karpov, the embodiment of mercy and compassion the Dalai Lama, Princess Diana, singer Paul McCartney and other famous personalities. In 1996, the torch visited the orbital station thanks to cosmonaut Gennady Strekalov, in 2006 - at the top of Elbrus, and 2 years later - at the North Pole. Anyone who decides to celebrate World Harmony Day does not have to take part in the race. In honor of the holiday, it is customary to show mercy and love to other people, animals, birds and even plants.
