Foundation Day of the Russian Book Chamber
Celebrated on 10 MayBefore the October Revolution, the abolished Main Directorate for Press Affairs was in charge of censorship and publication of books.
After the Provisional Government came to power in Petrograd in May 1917, the Russian Book Chamber was created. The bibliographic institution was responsible for registering books, newspapers, brochures, magazines and other printed publications.
