Brazilian Independence Day

Brazil is a country with an extremely interesting and, one might even say, intriguing history. People live here who enjoy every little detail of every new day. Stunningly beautiful carnivals with an audience of millions are held here every year. But even in this “cheerful” state, not everything went as smoothly as many of its citizens would like. This significant date is celebrated on September 7th. Historically, Brazil made attempts to win its independence back in the eighteenth century, when all centralized power belonged entirely to Portugal. And all the expensive and highly sought-after goods that were produced and grown in Brazil were sent for the most part to English shores. In fact, the world-famous Napoleon played a decisive role in the fate of the country. He entered into a bloody war with the King of Portugal, and the latter had to flee with his entire royal court to Rio de Janeiro. It was this most important factor that really contributed to Brazil gaining partial independence. Soon the Portuguese ruler decided to leave the Brazilian territories and went back to Europe, leaving his blood son Pedro as governor. It was he who proclaimed the complete independence of the Kingdom of Brazil on September 7, 1822. Pedro the First (as he called himself) was immediately crowned and immediately began a strategy for the prosperity of his lands. He also developed the first constitution for his country in the shortest possible time. This is truly the brightest day of the year for the vast majority of Brazilians. Moreover, it has been declared an official day off (at the level of the head of state). Grandiose celebrations are held everywhere, in which all Brazilians (both children and old people) take part without exception. Every year on this day large-scale parades are held, in which both the head of state and the entire ruling elite of Brazil take part. National flags are flying everywhere, which adds even more solemnity to this event. Since people in Brazil love to dance and sing, during the holiday you can see dancing couples and singers with national instruments everywhere. In general, everything looks quite harmonious and solemn at the same time.
