Holidays 7 june
In Russia, every year on June 7, Crowdfunding Day is celebrated. For those who are not familiar with this word, a little hint - this is the Slavic variation of “from the world by thread”. The first half of the word is translated from English as crowd, and the second half is funding. In the rest of the world, crowdfunding is very common, but in Russia not everyone is familiar with it. The holiday helps increase its popularity. Crowdfunding should not be confused with charity, since this involves raising funds not for a specific person. This is a social movement associated with raising funds for a specific project that will help improve the lives of many, expand opportunities, and introduce innovations. The crowdfunding movement is more widespread on the Internet. Sponsors become ordinary people, and a variety of programs can be promoted: • various startups; • business ideas; • charity events; • publication of a book, film; • creation of a public organization; • projects to improve the environment, economy, etc. For all projects, basic rules apply: the goal, the required amount and the amount of funds raised to date are indicated. There are many foreign online platforms for fundraising on the World Wide Web. With the help of these services, it is possible to raise money for many useful projects. One example is Boyan Slat, who was unable to find a government sponsor for a program to clean up plastic waste from the world’s oceans. With the help of such a platform, he was able to realize his idea of sending a floating garbage collection vessel to clean up the Pacific Ocean. In Russia, the most famous platform for crowdfunding is the Internet project Planeta.ru. Since its inception in 2012, Palneta.ru has managed to collect almost 1.5 billion rubles and implement 5,500 different public projects related to science, creativity, healthcare, and social activities. Many times support has been provided for business projects, allowing small businesses to develop. All this was achieved without government funding, but only at the expense of ordinary people. Why is Crowdfunding Day celebrated on June 7? It was on June 7, 2012 that the Internet project Platforma.ru was launched. This day became, in fact, the birthday of crowdfunding in Russia, and in 2015 the date was approved at the official level.
Poor food quality provokes the development of more than 200 different diseases. Chemicals that are used to grow plants and pathogens entering the human body cause allergies, gastrointestinal disorders and even cancer. In 2016, the UN drew attention to the problem of food safety, due to the poor quality of which hundreds of thousands of people die every year around the world. 40% of them are children under 5 years of age. In recognition of the importance of addressing the issue, June 7 is World Food Safety Day. Activities held in honor of World Food Safety Day are aimed at raising people's awareness of diseases caused by poor quality food and water. Most often, it provokes intoxication of the body due to the ingress of viruses, bacteria and chemicals into it - from fertilizers to growth hormones, which are used in livestock and poultry farming. Poisoning with low-quality food products leads, at best, to diarrhea, and at worst, to the development of cancer. Infection with helminths is observed when consuming thermally unprocessed meat, raw shellfish, unwashed vegetables and fruits. Poor quality food has a particularly negative impact on the health of young children, the elderly and people suffering from chronic diseases. For various reasons, the body of these population groups is weakened, and the immune system cannot give a worthy response to the aggressor in the form of infection. Every year, 400 million people in the world fall ill due to low-quality food, and 125 thousand children die from poisoning, most of whom live in countries with low incomes. According to the UN idea, agriculture and representatives of the food industry should unite and make food production as safe as possible. Intoxication due to consumption of poor-quality food leads to early disability of people, decreased productivity and additional medical expenses. Not every state can provide expensive, qualified care to cancer patients whose condition is caused by long-term consumption of unsafe food. The annual economic losses of countries due to the consumption of poor quality food by their citizens amount to $110 billion. World Food Safety Day calls for more than just concern for the health of the planet's population. World Food Safety Day draws attention to the need to reduce the burden on health systems, national economies, tourism and trade. Cooperation in this direction should be carried out by national governments, producers and consumers.
In the first month of summer, beetles from the family of lamellar beetles of the genus Bronzeweed appear on the surface of the earth after having overwintered in the ground. The insect owes its name to the iridescent emerald coloring of the elytra. Their colors are very reminiscent of gasoline spilled in a puddle. Light rays are refracted in porous elytra with an uneven microstructure, creating beautiful iridescent reflections through an optical illusion. Bronze beetles replace May beetles, which die after a short period of life and reproduction. Their June congregants love warm and sunny weather, so they appear in the summer. In total, there are about 4 thousand species of bronzebacks on the planet, 33 of which live in Russia, the rest in other regions of Eurasia. In honor of one of the representatives of arthropods, a holiday was established - June Bug Day, which is celebrated on June 7. The June beetle, like its “relative” the May beetle, is an agricultural pest. Thus, an adult individual of the species Cetonia aurata mercilessly destroys the ovaries, the larvae feed on dead parts of plants. Bronzeworts eat the bark, leaves and roots of fruit trees, beech, poplar and pine. The food used is shoots of cereals and flowers - roses, chrysanthemums, phlox, iris, dahlias and lilacs. The smooth bronzovka feeds on rotten berries and fruits, acting in the garden and vegetable garden as an orderly. The June beetle, black in color with white markings, lives in southern Russia and neighboring countries and eats plant pollen. This type of bronze is called stinking because of the pungent odor that the insect’s body emits. Protaetia marmorata lives in forest-steppes and feeds on the sap of wood dust. Marbled and stinking bronzes are harmless because... practically do not harm agricultural land. The life cycle of the June beetle is 2 years, of tropical species - only a couple of months. The female lays from 20 to 30 eggs at a time in compost heaps and anthills, from which larvae up to 2 cm long hatch after 14 days. The natural enemy of the beetle at the breeding stage are foxes and badgers. They rummage through the ground and anthills in search of a delicacy - bronze fly larvae. Adults are eaten by jays, jackdaws, orioles and other birds. Which sex of bronzefish emerges from the larva first depends on the ambient temperature. Males hatch from cocoons in cold weather, while females hatch in sunny and clear weather. Physiological features do not allow caterpillars to move using their legs. Before the onset of the adult stage, they move along the ground on their backs. June Bug Day is dedicated to the study of these and other features of the life, reproduction and nutrition of bronze beetles.
Moral support from loved ones strengthens fortitude and instills hope for recovery in the most difficult cases. This is the belief of Sona Mering, a programmer who retired in 2017. Back in 1997, she created a website for her American college friends. The couple gave birth to a girl prematurely, who was named Bridget. At that time, there were no social networks or other ways to quickly inform relatives and friends online about something important. The girl’s parents, who were fighting for her life, did not have the time or energy to call everyone by phone. Therefore, close people received information about the condition of baby Bridget on the website caringbridge.org. Unfortunately, the girl died during surgery at the age of 9 days. However, the creator of the web resource, Sona Mering, decided to leave it so that other people could tell about their health to those who worry and care about them. In 2001, the site hosted almost 4,000 personal user pages. A year later, CaringBridge was registered as a non-profit organization, and June 7, the date the site was created by Sona Mering, became a holiday - World Day of Caring. On the platform, people not only share information about their health, but also receive support from loved ones and those they do not know personally. Often advice and kind words are needed not only by doctors’ patients, but also by those who care for bedridden patients or elderly family members. Therefore, the platform is intended for a wide range of people who need participation and care. The resource provides an opportunity to exchange messages about miraculous recovery stories, post words of encouragement and make donations. In 2005, users of caringbridge.org donated $1 million to charity. Visitors to the platform have the opportunity to create their own website for free. In 2012, more than 132,000 people donated to support CaringBridge. In this way, they show concern not only for their sick loved ones, but also for strangers who want to be able to share information about their health with others. World Caring Day was first celebrated in 2022. World Caring Day encourages you to inquire about the state of affairs and health of elderly relatives and friends, acquaintances and work colleagues, thus performing an act of sincere participation in their lives. In honor of the holiday, people restore broken ties, share words of support, kindness and compassion, realizing that at the right time those around them will respond in kind. World Caring Day is not a one-time event. The holiday calls for showing love and care not only on June 7, but all 365 days a year.
Holidays of Russia - Day of adoption of the Constitution of the Altai Republic
Many holidays appeared in the United States, which later received international status. Thus, in 2009, the first events for National Running Day took place. And on June 1, 2016, at the initiative of the mayor of New York, a larger-scale action was launched. Representatives from 177 countries have pledged to run a total of 9.2 million miles (almost 15 million km) in support of Global Running Day. Every year, athletes and other supporters of an active lifestyle from different parts of the world take part in the festival. This is how the tradition began to celebrate World Running Day on the first Wednesday in June. One of the oldest sports has been included in the Olympic competition program since the times of Ancient Greece. Today, track and field athletes demonstrate their skills in several types of running: hurdles, middle and long distances, sprints and relays. Covering a certain distance in a specific period of time is not the only condition for participation in competitions. Athletes also try their hand at cross-country races and marathons. The latter refer to a stayer, the maximum distance for which, according to Olympic rules, is 42 km 195 m. This distance is covered by participants in the annual races in Boston. The marathon, held since 1897 in Massachusetts, USA, is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions. For 125 years, the race has only changed its format once, when a relay race was held during the First World War. And in 2020, due to the pandemic, the Boston Marathon was canceled for the first time. Participants in the world's oldest race, of course, supported the initiative of the Mayor of New York to celebrate Global Running Day in 2016. The Boston group that would contribute to the 9.2 million mile challenge was led by 2014 Boston Marathon winner Meb Keflezighi. The event, dedicated to World Running Day, was supported by the Atlanta track club and sports organizations in other states. In 2016, 2.5 million people took part in the race. Today, competitions under the motto “Running the Sun” are held in more than 180 countries around the world under the auspices of the International Organization of Athletics Federations. Athletes-enthusiasts from the Russian Federation celebrate not only Global Running Day, but also All-Russian Running Day, known as the “Cross of Nations”. It has been held annually since 2004 in mid-September. Participation in both holidays helps Russians lead a healthy lifestyle and promote regular physical education and sports. A good way of campaigning is not only covering the distance, but also posting photos on the Internet with the hashtag #GlobalRunningDay. The holiday brings together people who love running all over the world. The event, held on the first Wednesday in June, kicks off in New Zealand. From there, the race, following the example of passing the baton, taking into account time zones, moves to Australia, then to Japan, Europe and Africa, then to South and North America. Everyone can celebrate World Running Day by putting on their running shoes and going for a run in their city. To participate in the official event, you need to fill out a form on the Global Running Day website, indicating your country of residence and the distance you plan to cover. It doesn’t matter what distance it will be - a block or several kilometers. The main thing is that you have joined the international community of runners and made yourself known by experiencing the joy of participating in the event and the pleasure of finishing the journey.

Ivan - Honeydew is celebrated according to the folk calendar on June 7 (May 25, old style). The day was named Ivan on behalf of the holy prophet John the Baptist, since the church on this date honors the third discovery of his relics. John was born before the Savior came into the world, and was the son of the priest Zacharias and the pious Elizabeth. From his youth he lived as an ascetic, prayed a lot, and kept fasts. Then he carried the word of God to people, denounced sinners, instructing them on the righteous path. John prophesied the future from the Lord himself and personally baptized Jesus Christ. The queen ordered the saint to be beheaded for accusing her of illegal cohabitation. After burial, his relics were transferred three times. People called Ivan “Honeydew,” because during this period, the temperature difference caused destructive moisture to form on the plants. Outwardly, it looked like ordinary water, but it had a sweetish, honey-like taste, as it contained water and sugar from plants. Honey dew was especially destructive to bees; honey collected from such moisture could kill an entire bee family in winter. Such precipitation also harmed cows and crops in the fields. During the same period, moisture similar to honeydew appeared on the foliage, but it was called honeydew. It was a product of excretion of insects feeding on plant juices and flower nectar. Honeydew was considered more poisonous than dew. To protect livestock from destructive dew and honeydew, residents checked the quality of the grass. To do this, they hung the fabric outside at night. In the morning she became wet, and the owners tasted her. If the moisture had a sweet taste, it meant that honeydew had appeared, then the cattle were not grazed until lunchtime, until the grass dried out under the sun's rays. On this day they asked St. John to protect him from harmful moisture. They also prayed to him for relief from headaches and for the well-being of children. In the northern regions, Midsummer's day was spent in the fields, sowing late grain crops. Cabbages were planted in vegetable gardens, but they were planted with careful rituals, since the head of the cabbage was associated with the head of John the Baptist. The girls believed that on this day honey dew could give spiritual and external beauty. To do this, they went to the field in the morning and, while no one was looking, undressed until naked, and wiped their bodies with moisture from the plants. It was believed that such a ritual would cleanse them of everything bad, nasty and vicious. If an abundance of honeydew was noticed on Midsummer's Day, an increased harvest in the fields was expected. Wet soil on this day was observed for the harvest of grain crops. The dense flowering of rowan promised high yields of oats and flax. A late-blooming rowan bush foreshadowed a protracted autumn season.
