Saint Lucy's Day among Western Christians (Catholics)

The day of December 13 is dedicated to the early Christian holy martyr Lucia (Lucia, Lucia) of Syracuse. Lucia is considered the patroness of the blind. She is also prayed for for bleeding, dysentery and neck pain. Saint Lucia is the patroness of the cities of Venice and Syracuse.
