World Life Day

Life is the most valuable thing a person has, a priceless gift he receives at birth. Throughout their existence, people take care of themselves and their loved ones, reach professional heights and experience fiasco, face various difficulties and receive gifts from fate, fall in love, grieve and rejoice. In ancient Greek mythology, the Moirai were responsible for human life. The Hellenes and Romans believed that three goddesses held the threads in their hands and weaved the fabric of fate, predetermining the past, present and future. Modern man is convinced that life with all its vicissitudes is in his hands. And no matter how difficult the path from birth to death may be, you need to appreciate the opportunity given by nature, God or other higher powers to realize your aspirations and plans. Soviet writer N. Ostrovsky argued: “A person’s most precious thing is life. It is given to him once, and he must live it in such a way that it does not cause excruciating pain for the years spent aimlessly.” In honor of the important concept of philosophy and biology, which underlies these sciences, a holiday was established. October 30 is World Life Day. For the first time, ceremonial events on this occasion were held in 2008. The initiator of the emergence of World Life Day was the organization "Friends of Life" from the West African Republic of Cote d'Ivoire. According to the creators of the holiday, it symbolizes the victory of the cult of life over the cult of death. The latter is very common in Western countries that celebrate Halloween and other celebrations that encourage the worship of dark forces. The holiday quickly became popular in Benin and other West African countries, France and Norway, Hawaii and Haiti. Today the celebration is celebrated by people in different parts of the world at exactly 13.00 GMT. For 1 minute, all of humanity unites in a single impulse to recognize that life is a privilege and a gift to be treasured. In honor of the holiday, lectures and conferences are held on healthy eating, road safety and mental health. On October 30, parades and concerts are held, blood donation campaigns and other events are organized. In the United States, National Life Day is celebrated on January 22, in El Salvador on March 26. There are similar celebrations in other countries of the world. Many of them belong to folk holidays, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness and life over death, and have been celebrated since time immemorial: the Discovery of Svarga among the ancient Slavs, Samhain among the Scandinavians, Diwali among the Hindus, Saga-Dawa among the Buddhists, Christian Easter... With a celebration , uniting people of different countries, nationalities and religions, is World Life Day.
