Russian Insurer Day

In the life of every person there are certain risks relating to the safety of his property, health, life, etc. In order to financially protect yourself from untoward incidents, there is insurance. Russian Insurer Day is dedicated to people professionally engaged in this type of activity. This holiday is celebrated annually on October 6th. It is noted by insurers, appraisers, and support staff of insurance companies, as well as teachers and students of specialized educational institutions. The date of the celebration was not chosen by chance; it was on October 6, 1921 that the first insurance organization, Gosstrakh, was formed in the RSFSR. Then the Council of People's Commissars of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic adopted a resolution “On State Property Insurance”. It gave rise to the subsequent development of state property insurance in the Russian Federation. In May 1988, the Supreme Soviet of the USSR approved the law on cooperation, according to which it was allowed to form cooperative insurance organizations. Since that time, insurance companies began to appear, becoming an alternative to Gosstrakh. By 1992, many different insurance institutions appeared on the insurance market. In this regard, the Law “On Insurance” was adopted. In 1992, according to a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the insurance company Rosgosstrakh was formed. It became the full legal successor of Gosstrakh. Currently, more than 200 organizations engaged in insurance activities are registered in Russia. The leading positions in the reliability rating are occupied by Rosgosstrakh, Sogaz, and Ingosstrakh. On this day, employees of insurance companies hold festive events. Management recognizes the merits of the best employees by presenting them with gifts. After the ceremonial congratulations and awards of employees, concerts are held and buffets are organized. The heroes of the occasion also receive congratulations from friends and relatives. For the Rosgosstrakh company, this holiday is considered a birthday. Therefore, here it is the most important of corporate celebrations. For many years, the tradition has been maintained on this day to congratulate labor veterans who have worked for a long time in the insurance industry.
