Russian Holidays - Moscow Transport Day

Urban transport museums exist in many large agglomerations - in London, New York, Beijing and, of course, Moscow. The number of exhibits in each collection amounts to hundreds of pieces of equipment. The capital of Russia annually hosts a holiday dedicated to public transport. The first flight of a Daimler-Marienfelde suburban bus from Kamer-Kollezhsky Val to Ostankino took place in 1905. The first horse-drawn tram was launched much earlier - on July 7, 1872. Paying tribute to this important event, Moscow Transport Day is celebrated every second Saturday in July. Various events take place as part of the holiday - for example, a 5-hour rally, held with the support of Gorkyclassic, which finishes on the ground in front of the main building of Moscow State University. The parade of trams is also a solemn event. The Day of Moscow Transport is both a night cycling festival, the participants of which start on Suvorovskaya Square and move to Bolotnaya Embankment, and a retro transfer from the station. m. In honor of the holiday, car modeling studios and a children's workshop are open all day, and thematic photo exhibitions and quests are held in Zaryadye Park. State funds contain more than 250 vehicles - taxis, buses, trolleybuses, motorcycles and bicycles, city service vehicles, trucks and cars. In honor of the holiday, Moscow residents and guests of the capital can see rare vehicles in motion. One of the special events is the performance of the traffic police aerobatic team “Cascade” created in 2015. The demonstration of motorcycle driving skills by its participants is aimed at promoting road safety. Guests of the festival will be treated to an exhibition of the Museum of Transport and invited car clubs: "Volga M-21", "Moskvich", Lada History, "Victory Club", other thematic events. According to established tradition, the festival ends with a ceremonial fireworks display. The city holiday was initiated by large city public organizations, at whose request Moscow Transport Day was celebrated for the first time in 2017. The annual holding of ceremonial events dedicated to the launch of the first horse-drawn horse has become a good tradition. Hundreds of thousands of Muscovites take part in the festival and other events, who love their city and are proud of its developed, trouble-free public transport network.
