Holidays 26 september
Lack of awareness of both sexes in matters of contraception and sexual behavior leads to the existence of such a problem as unwanted pregnancy. Many representatives of the fair sex try to solve it through abortion, but they do not think about the sad consequences it can lead to. According to statistics, approximately half of all pregnancies are unplanned. 40% of them end in artificial interruption at their own request. Every fifth abortion is performed by a girl under 18 years of age. Of girls under 25 years of age who had an abortion during their first pregnancy, 45% have health complications, and 10% are forever deprived of the opportunity to conceive a child. China ranks first in the number of abortions, followed by the United States. Russia closes the top three. These numbers are certainly scary. One of the main reasons for such high rates is the poor awareness of people of reproductive age (mainly young representatives) in matters of protection against unwanted pregnancy. Many young people use unreliable methods of contraception in practice, for example, interrupted sexual intercourse or a calendar method of contraception. Others do not think about this issue at all, constantly practicing unprotected sex. Men and women, when engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse, must be aware that, in addition to positive emotions, such intimacy can cause significant harm to health, as well as cause an unwanted pregnancy. The mission of World Contraception Day is to convey to women and men information not only about modern methods of contraception, but also about the health hazards posed by incorrect sexual behavior. Every year World Contraception Day is celebrated on September 26th. The holiday is celebrated not only by gynecologists, but also by people who care about health issues, raising the younger generation and family planning. This holiday was first celebrated in 2007 at the initiative of several international organizations involved in family planning. The main purpose of the holiday was to protest irresponsible sexual behavior. Traditionally, on this day, educational institutions host thematic conversations and lectures with the younger generation. Medical organizations also host seminars aimed at educating patients on this topic. Charity concerts and performances are held. The events held on this day are aimed at ensuring that every person of reproductive age understands their sexual behavior and understands the importance of using reliable contraception.
What does knowledge of foreign languages mean for a modern person? First of all, this is the freedom to choose an activity and profession. It also means communication with like-minded people from other countries, and the opportunity to travel to different parts of the world without being constrained by the confines of an ordinary tourist. Worldwide globalization gives us a lot of options to show our talents and abilities, and the language barrier should not stand in the way of the desired success. These factors became decisive for the UN, which in 2001 declared September 26 as the international holiday of the European Day of Languages. In addition to promoting the development of foreign speech, the United Nations has publicized the problem of preserving endangered languages, of which there are about 60 in Europe, and as many as 136 in Russia. Linguistic scientists claim that the frequency of language death is one every two weeks. Thus, the native speech of any, even the smallest people, becomes a priceless treasure, the viability of which requires universal support. The most studied foreign language is definitely English, followed by German and French. It must be said that the popularity of a particular foreign speech soars depending on migration flows. The increase in working foreigners in Spain or Italy automatically increases the demand for teachers and tutors in this field. This will be true for Turkey, and for China, and for other states. It is interesting that in world history there are many examples of brilliant polyglots. For example, our great writer Leo Tolstoy spoke 15 foreign languages. But the championship belongs to the 18th century Italian cardinal Giuseppe Gasparo Mezzofanti, whose record includes 38 languages and 50 dialects. At the same time, Giuseppe never left his native land, but at the age of 23 he managed to take the post of professor of Arabic linguistics. The cardinal also managed to master Russian speech, which is considered one of the most difficult. According to biblical legend, a variety of languages and dialects was a punishment for the proud who erected the Tower of Babel. Divine intervention prevented construction, cutting off the speech contacts of the architects. But despite the legend, linguistic diversity is a value. Language is the voice and soul of the people who carry it. As long as the native speech is alive, the national culture and self-awareness live. The Day of European Languages is also a cry for the preservation of linguistic purity, which is so neglected by growing generations. Love and respect your language, fight for its beauty and preservation, leave a living, unpolluted speech for your descendants!
September 26 is an important date for every inhabitant of the Earth. International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons was founded in 2013 and registered in the UN General Assembly under number A/RES/68/32. The infamous Tsar Bomb (AN602) was developed by Academician I. Kurchatov. Terrible power (about 60 megatons) destroyed everything in its path during tests in October 1960. The nuclear mushroom shot up to a height of 67 km, the fireball was more than 4.5 km, and the sound wave spread over 800 km. The UN's priority mission since 1946 has been the worldwide elimination of weapons of mass destruction. The topic is raised at conventions every year, but despite the efforts made, not a single piece of equipment has ever been destroyed. Most of the world's population lives in countries that own weapons of mass destruction or are part of nuclear alliances. There are about 16 thousand potentially dangerous objects on the planet. According to the UN Secretary General, only complete elimination can guarantee the safety of the population. The mission of the holiday is to minimize the role of nuclear weapons in the foreign policy activities of states, remind participating countries of responsibility, and call for disarmament. On this day, thematic films are shown, campaign meetings and discussions are held. On September 26, everyone should remember the merciless danger that threatens the planet as long as atomic bombs exist. Russia takes a direct part in the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and discusses at multilateral negotiating forums in the field of disarmament. The country regularly takes measures aimed at maintaining the safety of the population. 1. Non-strategic nuclear weapons have been reduced by 4 times. 2. Undeployed weapons are stored within the country under the strictest security conditions. 3. Nuclear installations have a zero flight mission, i.e. are not aimed at any objects. On July 7, 2017, a law was passed requiring member countries to abandon all nuclear development, testing and weapons production. The use of nuclear weapons in the 21st century is unacceptable. If it is used in one place in the world, a global catastrophe threatens the entire planet.
The scale of human activity in the development of nature is comparable to the impact of global processes - tsunamis, volcanoes, earthquakes, storms and hurricanes. Anthropogenic factors lead to catastrophic consequences for the environment and the emergence of a number of environmental problems.
Friendship and communication are important components of every person’s life. Every year, September 26th, the calendar marks the Day of Meeting Old Friends. Thanks to friendly relationships, people receive support and a lot of positive emotions. Scientists have conducted various studies and found out many interesting facts about friendship. A person begins to understand the concept of friendship at the age of nine months. Communication with friends is good for health, helps to get psychological relief, and also get rid of anxiety and stress. People who have no friends are more likely to suffer from depression and chronic fatigue. At the same time, strong friendships prolong life. Every person is partly an owner. Friendship often brings people very close, so jealousy can be present in friendships. Interestingly, men tend to maintain friendships longer than women. When people get married or into long-term romantic relationships, then they pay less attention to their friends. Often people who are very similar to each other become friends. American scientists from Massachusetts analyzed the genes of 2,000 people who took part in the study. It turned out that any pair of friends has more similarities in genes than strangers. Scientists from Pennsylvania managed to find out that among their acquaintances, each person singles out the friend who pays him the most attention. Therefore, to become a better friend to someone, you need to spend more time with the person you want to get close to. Pets help compensate for the lack of friendship. Therefore, lonely people are recommended to get a four-legged friend who will give a lot of positive emotions and gratefully accept care. There are no particularly established traditions for celebrating the Day of Meeting Old Friends. The clue is in the very name of this holiday. Of course, on this day you need to pay attention to friends and family. If it is not possible to meet in person, then you can chat by phone or on social networks. You can also go somewhere with friends or have a festive photo shoot. The main thing is to get a lot of positive emotions and good memories from warm and sincere friendly communication.
An apparatus for playing music, the prototype of which was Thomas Edison's phonograph, was patented on September 26, 1887 by the American inventor Emil Berliner. For more than a hundred years, the gramophone was used to listen to melodies, as was the gramophone - a portable version of the device that does not contain a pipe.
In Rus', mead, wine and other drinks have long been drunk from cups and glasses. In the 1st century small glasses appeared - shot glasses, which were made of wood or clay. Jokers who decided to spiritualize glass and crystal dishes, without which not a single holiday is complete, came up with a funny celebration.
This day is associated with the name of the Christian saint Cornelius. It was believed that Kornilov Day was the last warm day before the autumn storm. From this date, frosts were expected in the mornings. People called this day Corniglia, because root crops were harvested on it: potatoes, beets, carrots, radishes.
