Holidays 1 november
“Classical ballet is a castle of beauty,” wrote Joseph Brodsky. Grace, flexibility and plasticity, intensity of emotions, expression of feelings through body language - all this is the external gloss of ballet, which hides behind the scenes - hard work and pain, years of hard training and comprehension of new facets of the capabilities of your own body. Every year in October-November, International Ballet Day is celebrated. There is no exact date for this holiday. This is due to the difficulties that arise when coordinating online broadcasts of the world's largest ballet companies taking part in the event. International Ballet Day is a young holiday that in recent years has managed to introduce thousands of people around the world to the beautiful art. The amazing, multifaceted, mysterious and vibrant world of ballet does not leave anyone indifferent who dares to look into it. This elegant form of stage and choreographic art was born in two countries: France and Italy. Initially, ballet was the name given to small dance scenes in opera or musical performances, which were usually united by a single action. Gradually they gained independence and turned into magnificent productions, for which they attracted dancers, created scenery and costumes, and wrote music. From Italian, “ballet” is translated as “dancing.” Magnificent ballet performances were staged at court when all the nobility gathered together with the royal family. Gradually, this type of art gained increasing popularity and became known not only in Europe, but also in Russia. It is believed that the first ballet performance was held at the court of the second Tsar from the Romanov dynasty. Much later, the French choreographer and actor Charles Louis Didelot popularized this art form in our country. He made a brilliant career in Europe, but accepted the invitation of the director of the imperial theaters of St. Petersburg and moved with his family. A real revolution in the art of ballet was made by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who brought musical accompaniment to a new level. He wrote music for perhaps the most famous ballet productions in the world - “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Sleeping Beauty”. These performances can be seen on different stages around the world to this day. Through Tchaikovsky's music, which had vivid dramatic expressiveness, the characters' characters began to be revealed. In ballet, different types of art are intricately intertwined. Ballet is music, dance, theater, drama and even painting. It combines acting and choreography. Until 2014, ballet actors did not have their own holiday. They were celebrating International Dance Day on April 29th, but the British came up with an interesting idea. As you know, in Britain they treat ballet no less reverently than in Russia, so the British decided to popularize this art form. Cameras were installed in the rehearsal hall of the Royal Ballet through which a live broadcast was broadcast on the Internet. The video received more than half a million views on the first day. The idea turned out to be so successful that the British decided to repeat the campaign every year. They were supported by ballet troupes of the world's leading theaters, and ballet actors now have their own holiday, when rehearsals of the largest companies can be seen by millions of spectators. Previously, the backstage of ballet art was shrouded in mystery for the average viewer. We saw only brilliant results - spectacular productions in which the actors conveyed the emotions of their characters with well-honed movements; they did not act, but lived their destinies. After the advent of International Ballet Day, almost everyone had a unique opportunity to see what happens behind the scenery, what hard work is behind every movement and how many people work to make the performance spectacular, beautiful, sensual and emotionally vibrant.
Stress Awareness Day
Vegetarians have declared October to be the month of their beliefs. It is limited to two holidays. October 1st is Vegetarian Day, and November 1st is International Vegan Day. How does the first date differ from the second? And is there a difference between a vegetarian and a vegan? At first glance, vegetarianism and veganism are equivalent concepts. But there is a significant difference between them. Vegetarianism is most concerned with nutrition - it is the rejection of meat and other animal products, but there are also vegetarians, whose menu consists of plant foods, dairy products and eggs. For a vegan, such variety is impossible. Veganism is a complete abstinence from animal foods, even honey. And moreover, from any household products containing elements of animal origin. For example, vegans strictly monitor the contents of detergents or cosmetics. In addition, it is unacceptable to wear fur, genuine leather or suede, bone or horn, wool or silk as clothing, shoes or an accessory. There is a complex attitude towards drugs if animal experiments were used to introduce them. Thus, being a vegan is a more conscious attitude towards the vegetarian lifestyle, which is symbolically achieved during the “Vegetarian Awareness Month”, that is, from October 1st to November 1st of each year. The initiative to celebrate the date belongs to the British Donald Watson. It was he who introduced the word vegan into use; he was the ideological inspirer of the vegan movement, founded on November 1, 1944. 50 years later, members of the society patented November 1st as a celebration of their way of life. The celebration has a varied program, including educational activities with food tasting, various rallies, and charity events. The funds raised are donated to animal shelters, and many animals find homes. You can have different attitudes towards vegetarianism and veganism, but everyone must listen to the problems they voice. Man is only a piece of life on planet Earth; the use of other living beings must be reasonable and justified. The problems with veganism are moral problems. Is it possible for a humane, civilized society that behaves immorally towards animals? What will humanity come to if no one asks this question? This is why there is a special date for the vegan society, whose fans are becoming more and more every year.
In 1864, Alexander II carried out judicial reform in Russia, during which the institute of bailiffs was founded. Without significant changes, it existed until 1917 and after the Bolsheviks came to power it was abolished on November 24, 1917 by the corresponding Decree of the Council of People's Commissars. From that moment on, judicial institutions were dissolved, and bailiffs were replaced by bailiffs. After the collapse of the USSR and the advent of a market economy, the number of mutual debts increased and a large number of defrauded investors appeared. The emergence of these problems revealed the inefficiency of the system of work of bailiffs, which resulted in the entry into force of the Federal Law “On Enforcement Proceedings” and “On Bailiffs” on November 6, 1997. According to these legislative acts, the FSPP (Federal Bailiff Service) of Russia today is a federal executive body, and the main functions assigned to it include: • ensuring the functioning of courts in accordance with the legally established procedure; • proper execution of court decisions, as well as acts of other government agencies and officials; • supervision and control in a certain area of activity, incl. law enforcement functions. At the same time, every citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 20, who has a secondary or higher education and has business, personal qualities and health conditions that allow them to perform official duties with a high degree of efficiency can become a bailiff. Every year since 2009, November 1 is celebrated as Bailiff Day in the Russian Federation. It was this date that was determined by Decree of the President of Russia No. 1019 of September 8, 2009 “On the establishment of Bailiff Day.” All employees of the FSSP of the Russian Federation traditionally accept congratulations from management, relatives and friends on their professional holiday. On this day, it has already become a good tradition to hold solemn festive events, during which employees who are just entering the service take an oath. Also on this day, state and departmental awards are awarded to particularly distinguished employees.
Managerial personnel of all types and ranks celebrate their professional holiday at the beginning of November - Manager's Day. The first specialists who, without being owners or employees, were involved in monitoring production processes and selling goods, appeared in Russia in the early 90s. Since then, the popularity of the profession has grown steadily. The holiday is not of an official nature - Manager’s Day is not on the list of special dates fixed at the state level. However, this does not prevent professionals from celebrating it annually on November 1st. Manager's Day is celebrated by teachers, students and graduates of colleges and universities where they teach management specialties. The profession is very popular among young people, because... allows you to take a creative approach to solving production problems and demonstrate passion in achieving the most ambitious goals. Not the least factor in choosing a specialty is the amount of remuneration: the salary of top managers of large companies is often comparable to the income of the owner. However, the responsibility of these specialists is no less than that of the founders, director and chief accountant of an enterprise, investment company or bank. In addition to junior, middle and senior managers of companies, the holiday is celebrated by office, product, account and project managers. In honor of the celebration, colleagues get together, share plans for the future and exchange experiences. On Manager's Day, distinguished employees are presented with awards, certificates of honor and memorable prizes. Trainings, thematic seminars and conferences are held for the holiday. On November 1, toasts and wishes for success in their work are addressed to the management personnel of companies. Manufactories, factories, factories and farms in the USA in the 19th century. needed progressive management that would improve their efficiency. In the conditions of the development of capitalist society, it became obvious that entrepreneurial functions concentrated in one person must be divided into areas. This is how economists, lawyers, technologists, financiers and managers of various levels appeared. The profession of “manager” is considered one of the key ones in a market economy. Specialists develop management methodology, monitor production processes and increase the level of sales of goods. Manager translated from English means “manager”, “manager” or “director”. A professional is truly a valuable personnel of any organization: he ensures profit - the main result of economic activity. A manager, in a highly competitive market environment, makes strategic decisions, looks for clients for the company, and ensures sales of products. The specialist knows how to optimize production, how to promote and sell a product. There are many types of management: production, banking, financial, investment, organizational, etc. Each of them plays an important role in the functioning of a market economy in Russia. Therefore, it is customary to congratulate managers of all types and ranks on November 1 on Manager’s Day.
Day of fortune telling on coffee grounds
The first day of November is one of the most important celebrations for Catholic Christians. The celebration of All Saints' Day is obligatory for everyone belonging to the Catholic Church. At the solemn liturgy, the priests, dressed in white robes, not only invoke the intercession of all Christian saints and martyrs, but also express faith in the presence of countless holy hosts. The origins of the holiday lie in the history of ancient times, when the great and powerful civilization of the Roman Empire collided with the beliefs of the peoples who inhabited the British Isles. According to the ideas of the Celtic tribes, farewell to autumn and greeting of the long winter occurred at the border time. The Samhain holiday turned a new wheel of the year, opening otherworldly creatures access to the world of the living. People, in turn, could also find themselves in another world, without any special rituals. Celebrating Samhain, the Celts prepared treats for the spirits of their ancestors, who could visit their former earthly homes. The assimilation of ancient Celtic customs into the Roman tradition led to the preservation of the holiday even after the spread of Christianity. The first Christians of Ireland and England, bringing the word of God to the pagan kingdoms, rethought the ancient holiday in the Christian spirit and began to commemorate all the saints, whose names are not always known to people, but are known only to God himself. Thus, on November 1, they commemorate saints who do not have their own day during the church year, but who invisibly bless the Christian flock. Pope Gregory in the mid-8th century consecrated one of the chapels of St. Peter's Basilica on November 1, and thereby established this date as All Saints' Day. After 100 years, King Charles ordered the entire vast Frankish empire to celebrate this celebration without fail. All Saints' Day is replaced by All Souls' Day, and this date is also the same and important for all Catholics. For 8 days, believers are called to pray for the souls of their deceased relatives, who are distinguished by their special zeal.
Every year on November 1, according to the folk calendar, Midsummer's Day or Farewell to Autumn is celebrated. According to the church calendar, this date coincides with the transfer of the relics of St. John of Rila. In Ancient Rus', Midsummer said goodbye to autumn, expecting the onset of cold weather. Peasants hid plows and other agricultural implements in barns. Hard physical labor was replaced by simpler crafts. People wove baskets, bast shoes, sculpted felt boots, did pottery, embroidery, and knitting. There were a large number of traditions and signs to see off autumn. On this day it was believed that a magpie could anger a brownie. Therefore, food was sprinkled on the wild birds in the yard so that they would eat and not disturb the evil spirits. It was believed that a person born on November 1 would be talkative and restless, like this bird. But the chickens were unlucky that day, since the men slaughtered them, and the women prepared various dishes from them: fried, boiled, baked. Characteristics of this day were chicken broths and pies, fried chicken, kurniks, and noodles in chicken broth. It was also believed that on this day the grooms in the horse stables began to play mischief. They began to stir up trouble and frighten the horses, ruffling and tangling their manes. Therefore, on this day the horses were left alone, which was accompanied by rest for the grooms. They drank beer, wine, and held parties with stories and fables. Therefore, the holiday on November 1 is simultaneously called “Grooms’ Day”. If you listen to superstitions, it is best not to go to the garage on this day and not take your “iron horse”. Midsummer's Day is a holiday for ordinary people with their own traditions and signs. On this day they attend church, praying to St. John of Rila. After church, the peasants ate heartily and then rested. The holiday is similar to many other Orthodox celebrations. The difference is considered to be the saint himself and the customs associated with this day. On Midsummer's Day the memory of the Bulgarian Saint John, born in 876, is honored. He became an orphan early and was doomed to a difficult independent life. The child could not find a good job, so he was content with what was offered: mowing grass, cleaning the garden, chopping wood. There were almost no wealthy people in the villages. Finally, John was lucky. He was able to find permanent work as a shepherd for a wealthy owner. A boy was tending a herd of cows. He took his work seriously. But one day it happened that the calf was lost. The angry owner ordered to find the loss. John walked around, but did not find the fugitive. Then he turned to the Lord God for help. He prayed earnestly, and the calf returned to the herd. The landowner unwillingly witnessed the amazing return of the loss. And the young man, believing in the power of prayer, went to the temple. It is believed that this was the monastery of St. Demetrius. In the monastery the boy acquired knowledge of writing, reading, and counting. A little later, he became a monk and began to live in solitude in the forest. The man prayed earnestly to God, without being distracted by everyday problems and nuances. But it so happened that a gang of robbers attacked the monk’s forest hut. The beaten monk went into the desert, settling in a cave. He lived in his cave for a long time, and he acquired a follower, Luke, John’s nephew. His father was looking for Luka to help with the housework. On the way home, Luka was bitten by a snake; the strong poison became fatal. Monk John was deeply disappointed by the news of his nephew's death. He became even more of a hermit. The holy man sometimes changed his location, looking for deserted places with distant caves. He delved into writing the Testament. One day the shepherds came to the monastery of the saint. He fed them beans. Having had their fill, they left. One shepherd took some beans with him. The surprise was that all the pods were empty. Then the shepherds returned to the hermit to apologize to him. Afterwards, sick people began to come to John for healing, and others for advice. John lived his last years on a rock and died at the age of 70. However, he managed to finish his manuscript of spiritual instructions. Only 30 years later, the abbot of the Rila Monastery took care of transferring the relics of the saint to Sofia to a specially built chapel, where the coffin still stands. Some of the relics are located in the Russian city of Rylsk, Kursk region. The peasants noticed what the weather would be like on November 1st. When the day was warm and without precipitation, then winter will not be harsh, and spring will come quickly. When the day of November 1 turned out to be cold and with precipitation, then it was necessary to insulate the houses. To do this, the huts were lined with sheaves of corn stalks. When migratory birds fly high above the ground, there will soon be snowfall. If snow falls on November 1st, you should expect a good grain harvest next year.
