Holidays 24 july
Florist Day has been celebrated annually in Russia since 2009. This year the profession was officially registered, and July 24, the date of the celebration, was included in the register of national holidays. Making flower arrangements is not so much a craft as a creative process that belongs to the arts and crafts. Therefore, every florist is a bit of an artist at heart and even a wizard who brings beauty into our lives. Flowers were used to decorate temples on religious occasions by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. Ikebana in Japan appeared in the 15th century as the art of making compositions from branches with buds and shoots, which were placed in special vessels and jugs for offering to the gods. Later, this discipline became one of the main ones in the geisha training program. With the advent of Christianity, the tradition of giving bouquets on various occasions and without became entrenched in everyday life among Europeans. First of all, elegant flower arrangements were given to women as a sign of gratitude, longing, passion and love. With the help of plants, communication took place in the harems of the Turkish sultans. "Selam" means "greeting" in Persian. Each flower that was passed to the concubines' rooms could represent a whole sentence with a wish or an answer to a question asked. The same method of communicating with gentlemen was used by young ladies during the time of Pushkin. In 1830, the book “Selam, or the language of flowers,” translated from Persian, was published in Russia. It paid special attention not only to deciphering the meaning of each plant, but also to the method of presenting bouquets. Importance was attached to the presence or absence of thorns on roses, leaves on the stem, vertical or horizontal position of the buds, and even whether the bouquet was in the left or right hand. In a prim society, where direct communication between representatives of both sexes was not particularly encouraged, there was not only the language of flowers, but also flies and fans. In the era of Queen Victoria, elegant Tussie-Mussies were very popular - small bouquets wrapped in a lace napkin, inserted into a vase or tied with a satin ribbon. They were an encrypted message. Unraveling such messages was a popular pastime in the salons of high society. Do you remember the children's game with the little counting rhyme: “I was born a gardener, and I got really angry. I’m tired of all the flowers, except…”? Its traditions are rooted in the distant past. In the 19th century, visitors to European fashion salons enjoyed participating in the “Flirtation of Flowers.” The game helped ladies and gentlemen get to know each other and overcome timidity and shyness during communication. Each visitor to the hospitable home received 2 cards - called “You and I” and with an image of a certain flower or a phrase on his behalf. The players, passing them to each other, communicated in this way, which looked completely innocent to others. Thanks to “Flirting Flowers”, dialogues were conducted and subtle hints were made, which could be followed by marriage proposals. Today, the creation of floral compositions (panels and collages) is carried out by professionals with a subtle artistic taste, working in salons and studios. Fresh and dry flowers are used to arrange bouquets and decorate rooms, creating a special festive atmosphere. Some compositions are masterpieces and real works of art, which emphasize the importance of the profession of a florist, whose professional holiday is celebrated annually on July 24.
International Self-Care Day is celebrated around the world on July 24th every year. International Self-Care Day is an unofficial holiday that was created so that people began to pay more attention to their health and mental state. Daily stress, conflicts, tension and stress have a negative impact on the body, which needs constant care and restoration. The appearance of International Self-Care Day in the calendar of unofficial international holidays occurred in 2011 thanks to the International Self-Help Foundation, which became its founder. According to the initiators, the main key to the prosperity of a person as an individual is self-preservation. The new holiday allows us to demonstrate the importance of self-care and remind us that we should not forget about it, even if the pace of life is quite high. It should be understood that you need to take care not only of your physical condition, since mental balance also plays an important role. To achieve better results, you should pay attention to areas such as emotional, motivational, cognitive and volitional. Each person must be responsible for their own well-being, which is very difficult to achieve, especially for people from dysfunctional families, where caring is often called selfishness, and the fulfillment of personal desires is called self-indulgence. Often, the ban on self-care leads to the fact that doing the simplest things for your own well-being turns into a difficult task. Celebrating this unofficial holiday involves performing activities that make people aware of the importance of self-help in their own lives. To take care of your mental health, it is recommended to do the following: • give up self-accusations that provoke self-hatred; • devote time to your favorite activities; • establish personal boundaries with others, both in the team and in the family; • choose for yourself an environment where you feel support and acceptance of personal interests; • formation of your own system values based on personal desires and needs; • concentration on one’s emotions and their full acceptance. Often, for many, self-care is just about paying attention to the body. Of course, you can’t forget about skin care, healthy food and other important things, but strengthening your well-being requires a wider range of factors. While at the workplace, you need to ensure that the body is not overloaded. In order to cope with this task, you need to calm down and take a break from the routine, or mobilize your strength to achieve results. After working at the computer for a long time, it is useful to use techniques to switch attention, which have a beneficial effect on the emotional state and normalize breathing, allowing you to enrich the blood vessels with oxygen and improve performance.
Land managers began to engage in entering arable, hunting, yard and empty land into the state register during the times of Kievan Rus. The functions of today's cadastral engineers were performed by scribes, measurers and watchmen. Their working tools were iron stakes that were driven into the ground and ropes. Knowledge of geometry and geodetic equipment first began to be used under Peter I. July 24 is the Day of the Cadastral Engineer in Russia - a profession whose history dates back hundreds of years. The collection of information about land as an object of ownership and taxation has been known since the times of Ancient Rome and Mesopotamia. Although even under the primitive communal system, people made attempts to evaluate the territories that belonged to their tribe. The first cadastres helped determine the amount of money collected taking into account the type of soil, its characteristics and productivity. Attempts to structure information about private plots began during the reign of the iterator Servius Tulius. The Romans were familiar with the concept of caputigum (translated from Latin as “tribute”). Subsequently, it began to sound like capitum registrum - taxation depending on the number of users or owners of land. With the advent of a new era, the cadastre began to resemble a modern real estate register. Bronze tablets reflected maps of land plots; the scrolls contained information about plots, indicating the names of the owners, the size and boundaries of private territories. A full-fledged state cadastre in Rus' appeared under Empress Catherine. The land registration register was called the Local Order, which contained a description of objects - arable lands, forestry, crop fields, hayfields. From the IX-XIX centuries. their sizes were determined approximately in contrast to the description of soil quality. In the Soviet Union, land belonged to the state, so there was no need to develop a cadastral service. With the advent of capitalism and private property in the 90s. XX century there was a need to develop a mechanism for carrying out transactions with plots - from rent and will to purchase and sale. In the Russian Federation, all land is used by owners or tenants on a paid basis. To assess the value of plots and their characteristics, land surveying is carried out. To determine the boundaries of plots and areas, cadastral engineers use high-precision instruments and modern devices, including GNSS receivers and quadcopters for aerial photography. More than 40,000 domestic licensed professionals have the skills of land surveyors, surveyors, real estate appraisers and lawyers. The qualifications of cadastral engineers allow them not only to engage in land surveying, but also to draw up technical plans for construction projects, diagrams, acts and conclusions for government bodies. Specialists carry out geodetic measurements and create maps of the area, and perform other work that helps organize information about real estate objects. Professionals are members of SROs that protect the interests of land managers and monitor compliance with legislative norms in the field of cadastre and cartography. The modern real estate accounting system is based on a long history of technical inventory. The holiday, celebrated since 2008, coincides with the release in July 2007 of the Law “On the State Real Estate Cadastre”. All information about plots, apartments, houses, and other buildings and structures is today brought together and contained in the Rosreestr database. The importance of the work of land surveyors is difficult to overestimate. Therefore, on July 24, cadastral engineers are sincerely congratulated on their professional holiday by colleagues, relatives and friends who pay tribute to their professional activities.
“Once on Epiphany evening the girls wondered: they took a shoe off their foot and threw it behind the gate,” - this is how V.A.’s ballad begins. Zhukovsky "Svetlana". In Rus' there were special days for predictions - Christmastide. It was believed that during the 12 days from Christmas to Epiphany, the border between the worlds blurs, and during these border periods, evil spirits, from whom the future can be gleaned, are especially strong. Representatives of the highest circles of society learned about the future from spirits at spiritualistic sessions of Count Cagliostro and other mediums. They told fortunes using Madame Lenormand's tarot, coffee grounds and books, and threw grains onto King Solomon's circle. Dreams from Thursday to Friday were considered prophetic, so special attention was paid to them. In high society, card and other fortune-telling turned into parlor entertainment. The time of activity of evil spirits and dark forces was considered to be the period from 12 at night to 3 in the morning. Therefore, the fortune telling was completed with the first roosters. Today, predictive techniques and appeals to oracles are practiced throughout the year at any time of the day. July 24th is a funny holiday - Looking into the Future Day. Predictions, especially favorable ones, give a person confidence in the future. That’s why we really want to know what awaits us in the future. However, according to the observations of psychologists, the results of fortune telling very often program people. When a person is categorically told what awaits him in the future, he begins to concentrate on this and subconsciously perform actions that lead to a result already known and stored in memory. The chances of changing the forecast, even a negative one, decrease, and fortune telling begins to come true for completely objective reasons. Fatalists and supporters of the theory of karma should keep in mind that the future has many options, although the outline of fateful events is already written in the book of life. Here it is appropriate to recall Russian fairy tales and epics, the heroes of which stopped at a fork in the road. Ilya Muromets read the prophecy on the stone: “If you go to the right, you will lose your horse, if you go to the left, you yourself will die, if you go straight, you will find happiness (or be killed).” The choice of option by the epic hero determined his future life. The future development scenario depends on the decisions of each of us at important milestones, so looking into it can be uninformative. Esotericists warn beginners and those simply curious about the caution that must be exercised in fortune telling with a pendulum or on a Ouija board. Without appropriate training and experience, calling the spirits of the dead can end in disaster. Infernal entities of the lower worlds often get in touch with people. At best, they will distort information and scare with terrible prophecies, at worst, they will negatively affect the energy of those who took part in the session. Suspicious and easily inspired people should turn to the predictions of gypsies or the prophecies of clairvoyants as a last resort. The rest are recommended to celebrate the Day of Looking into the Future in any available way: from ordering an individual horoscope and fortune telling on Tarot cards to simply flipping through a diary. After all, each of us intends to do something in the coming days, weeks or months. July 24 is the perfect day to refresh your memory of your plans and look at your notes, that is, practically find out your future.
The world's most popular drink is prepared from the roasted seeds of the Coffea plant. Every year the world's population drinks 2.5 million cups of coffee. Gourmets roast the grains, grind them, add water and bring to a boil over the fire. Those who are not particularly picky and are not willing to spend a lot of time preparing the drink make it from granules or powder. Instant coffee, according to one version, was invented by the Japanese Satori Kato, a chemist who lived in Chicago. In 1901, he presented it at the Pan-American Exhibition held in Buffalo, America. According to another version, instant coffee was invented by the Frenchman Alphonse Allais and patented it in 1881. However, the novelty was not to the taste of his contemporaries, so the powder for preparing the drink began to be produced on an industrial scale decades later - in the late 1930s. The first instant coffee, produced under the Red E Coffee brand, was included in the diet of American soldiers due to its ease of preparation in the field. After the end of World War II, it became popular among civilians. July 24, the date of the appearance of the Swiss brand Nescafe drink on the US market in 1938, is considered the birthday of instant coffee. The products of this brand at one time differed favorably from their analogues. Nescafe technologist Max Morgenstaller spent several years developing conditions for long-term storage of coffee beans for Brazilian producers. Due to incorrect processing technology, part of the crop rotted in warehouses, not reaching consumers. In 1937, Morgenstaller created a powder from beans with a long shelf life that retained the indescribable aroma and rich taste of natural coffee. Americans saw the first cans with the inscription Red E Coffee on store shelves in 1909. The production of this product was carried out by a company created by the chemist J.C. Washington. While traveling in Guatemala, he noticed the dust settling on the walls of the coffee pot. Washington came up with the idea that if a drink can turn from a liquid state into a free-flowing one, the reverse is also possible. He realized the idea of creating a powder that, after dissolving in hot water, turned into invigorating and aromatic coffee. Today the drink is produced by many companies offering a high-quality and tasty product. Instant coffee is produced from Arabica and Robusta beans in the form of powder, granules and freeze-dried form. It is most popular among Brazilians and Americans. Despite the ongoing debate about the benefits of the drink and its naturalness, the demand for instant coffee is growing every year. His fans are in all countries of the world. Therefore, July 24 is widely celebrated as the birthday of instant coffee.
According to the folk calendar, Olga Stradnitsa is celebrated on July 24 (July 11, old style). The date received part of its name from the church calendar - the day of honoring the memory of Saint Princess Olga, who became the spreader of Christianity in Rus'. Olga lived in the 10th century and came from a noble princely family. After her wife Igor was killed by the Drevlyans, the princess dealt harshly with the murderers and took over the leadership of the state. Having discovered Christianity, Olga was baptized under the name Elena, and then began to spread the faith among her subjects. She failed to introduce her own son Svyatoslav to Christianity, but she managed to instill love for the Almighty in her grandchildren. As a result, her grandson Vladimir continued to spread the faith. And the people called Olga the Stradnitsa. This name was associated with the active harvest period - work on harvesting grain crops from the fields. While the weather was clear, the peasants hurried to collect the ripened grain, since rain could ruin the harvest. Although the rain made them feel better after the heat, the peasants were worried that the grain crops had not yet been harvested. Before work, residents prayed to St. Olga for help in hard work and a message of favorable weather. The Stozhars also notified that the fields were ready for harvesting. This is how the Slavs previously called a group of stars in the constellation Taurus, visible to the naked eye. Stozhars became especially noticeable in July days. Seeing them in the night sky, people believed that the grain harvest would take place with good weather. In addition, Stozhary was a sign of a successful hunt for the beast. Sometimes this period was popularly called a stormy period, since sunny days often gave way to cloudy and thundery ones. The peasants watched the thunder; if it was clearly heard, then heavy rain was expected; if a weak rumble was heard, then precipitation occurred in small quantities. Fishermen listened especially sensitively to thunder, since its rumbles on a given day announced successful fishing. If residents of Olga Stradnitsa noticed leeches floating to the surface of the reservoir, they prepared for inclement weather. Spiders frozen in the center of their webs foreshadowed rainy weather. The active work of the bees promised dry, clear days.
Holidays of Ecuador - Simon Bolivar Day (Simon Bolivar Day)
Orthodox holidays on July 24:
On July 24 (July 11), 969, the earthly journey of Grand Duchess Olga, the “leader of the faith” of the Russian state, ended. Saint Olga, Equal to the Apostles, is called the “Root of Orthodoxy.” She was the first of the Russian rulers to move away from pagan customs and accept the Christian faith, taking this step 30 years before the baptism of Rus'. Like the apostles, the Grand Duchess spread the Gospels in Rus', promoting the widespread conversion of her fellow tribesmen to the Christian faith. Saint Olga Equal to the Apostles was canonized in 1574. The cathedral confirmed her widespread veneration in Rus' even in the pre-Mongol period. Everyone has their own difficult path to God. A clear example of this is Saint Olga. Her biography contains many mysteries and chronological inaccuracies. But there are also documented facts about the life of this wonderful woman. She was brought up according to pagan laws. She was destined to become the wife of Igor, Prince of Kyiv, and give birth to a son, Svyatoslav. Svyatoslav was orphaned at the age of three due to the fault of the Drevlyans, who killed the Kyiv prince. The pagan Olga, who revered the laws of faith of that time, cruelly avenged her husband by performing a funeral rite with sacrifices befitting a princely title. The victims were the ambassadors of the hated tribe, buried alive and burned, and thousands of murdered men - the Drevlyans. Perhaps it was this monstrous cruelty of revenge that became the starting point from paganism to Christianity. Having taken revenge on Igor’s killers, Olga took upon herself full responsibility for Kievan Rus, without giving a single drop of power to outside hands, she saved it for her son. While waiting for Svyatoslav to grow up, the Grand Duchess took up the economic and political development of Rus', defending herself from enemies not like a woman - like a reasonable, strong husband. Under her leadership, Rus' became a great power. The first state borders of Kievan Rus appeared during the reign of Olga. She introduced centralized government administration using a systematic taxation scheme. During her reign, they began to erect buildings made of stone. Chroniclers testify to the nationwide love of their subjects. The merciful, pious ruler was a righteous judge, generous, merciful to everyone who was poor, poor, and needy. The wisest princess realized that economic and political activity alone was not enough for the prosperity of the state. There is also a vital component of the success of any country - the spiritual life of the people. In adulthood, having transferred power to her grown-up son, the princess returned to Constantinople to watch the Christian service and personally verify the correctness of the Christian faith. There, in 957, she decided to become a Christian. Patriarch Theophylact of Constantinople performed the sacrament of baptism over Olga. Emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus became the godfather. Upon returning to Kyiv, the apostolic ministry of the Grand Duchess began. She converted many of her compatriots to Christ. She failed to turn her only son Svyatoslav to Orthodoxy. He did not want to give up pagan customs, but he also did not create obstacles for those who listened to Olga’s sermons and were baptized, becoming a Christian. Grandmother taught Svyatoslav’s children the Christian faith. But she did not dare to baptize them without her son’s knowledge. However, the righteous labors of Saint Olga were not in vain - grandson Vladimir, having become a ruler, decided to be baptized. In 988, the clergy of Constantinople baptized the people of Kiev in the Dnieper waters. Then the baptism of other peoples of ancient Rus' took place. Historians give a positive assessment of the baptism of Rus'. Life itself appreciated the significance of the event: the adoption of Christianity brought about great changes and influenced the further political development of the country and the formation of the spiritual culture of the people. For the second millennium, Russian Christians have been honoring the holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga, admiring her courage, patience, wisdom, and piety. In 1988, Patriarch Pimen and the Holy Synod established the women's order of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga. This order is awarded to the abbess of monasteries, and it is also awarded to secular women serving the cause of Christian enlightenment. Let us bow to Saint Olga, who opened the path to Orthodoxy for Russia.
