Holidays 21 july
The oldest agricultural holiday of the ritual cycle, falling on July 21, is called Zazhinki. Although similar holidays were common among all East Slavic tribes, where agriculture was the main occupation, Belarus managed to preserve the traditions longer and more fully than anyone else. The word symbolizes the beginning of the harvest period, which is significant for any farmer, usually rye and wheat, which ripen earlier than other crops. The ritual of the holiday was clear and consistent. The whole community prepared for it, and for every family it was an important ritual. After thoroughly cleaning their personal farmsteads, they went to the field. The very first harvest of ears of grain, compressed with a sickle, was given special significance - it was kept separately. The most respected woman, usually the eldest in the family, was trusted to make the first sheaf. Having decorated it with flowers, they carried it from the field to the hut, where it occupied a place of honor until the fall, when this sheaf had its own mission - it was from its ears that the grinding of the entire harvest began. The consciousness of the peasants endowed the grain with healing power from the first sheaf; they began sowing it the next year. All processes, from going into the field to planting the sheaf, were accompanied by harvest songs and sayings endowed with sacred meaning. People believed that a good harvest, and therefore the ability to survive, depended on rituals. Their strict observance brings the mercy of nature, the condescension of higher powers, rewarding the daily hard work of the peasants. Signs about the weather patterns characteristic of a given day also occupied a special place. It was believed that a sunny and hot day favors a good harvest. Centuries-old folk mythology, ritual and magical actions based on paganism, were later intertwined with another religious moment - the adoption of Christianity in the 10th century. Zazhinki began to be correlated with the commemoration of Procopius of Caesarea, popularly nicknamed the Harvester, who was tortured and executed for his faith on July 21, 303 in Jerusalem. But traces of paganism still remained in songs and rituals, and some folklore examples have survived to this day. In modern times, Zazhinki is also celebrated, although in some areas they no longer have a clear date, July 21: they are simply timed to coincide with the beginning of the harvesting season. Previously, they did not work on this day, organizing festivities and a special festive dinner. The revival of folk rituals is increasingly supported in different regions of Belarus. There are celebration scenarios in which, despite the further mechanization of grain harvesting, the first spikelets are cut off with a sickle. Preserving an ancient and original culture is not an easy task, but not for Belarus, which demonstrates outstanding success in the historical branch of the economy - agriculture. Ethnic complexes, agricultural estates, and museums not only preserve national culture, but also introduce guests to rituals and traditions through theatrical performances, especially interesting to city residents.
Reconciliation of debits with credits, non-production costs, residual value of fixed assets, inventory... These terms and the processes associated with them are familiar to every accountant. Thus, re-accounting of tangible and intangible assets of an enterprise is carried out to check and evaluate warehouse stocks. The obtained data is verified with accounting documentation, after which an assessment of the organization’s property and obligations to other companies is given. In honor of this procedure, July 21 is celebrated as Recount Day. Goods, consumables, raw materials and even furniture on the balance sheet are subject to control. The audit of values is carried out periodically and does not depend on the wishes of employees, the form of ownership of the enterprise (private or public), or the economic system (socialist or capitalist). Real estate accounting and control is carried out both at the level of organizations and the state. Technical inventory of the housing stock and other real estate has been carried out in Russia since 1927. This procedure is carried out by a specially created institution - BTI. In Soviet times, inventory was given great importance - it was a planned and mandatory event. In E. Ryazanov’s film “Office Romance” there is an episode in which the director of the Institute of Statistics Lyudmila Prokofyevna and her secretary Verochka were forced to move the “meeting” from the office to the assembly hall. This happened because employees, who were popularly dubbed “raiders,” descended on the manager’s office to take an inventory of everything: from furniture to vases and office supplies. Market relations do not allow the re-discounting of property and other assets of an enterprise during operation, as this interferes with the conduct of business. Inventory of raw materials, materials, goods and property of an organization, for example, a supermarket, is carried out early in the morning, when there are few buyers, at night or on weekends. In the USSR, activities to count material assets were carried out during working hours. Therefore, visitors to grocery stores, military stores, hairdressers and other public service enterprises periodically ran into a closed door with a sign “Closed for re-registration.” What benefits does such an audit provide? Discrepancies in one direction or another (excess or shortage of material assets), which are revealed during re-registration, indicate an unprofessional approach of employees to the performance of their duties, fraud or theft that is flourishing in the enterprise. All these violations negatively affect the successful development of business. Mandatory inventory is not strictly regulated by law. It is recommended to audit fixed assets at least once every 3 years, other assets - before drawing up an annual report. An inventory must be carried out when there is a change in the financially responsible persons of the organization, in case of damage to property or theft, after a fire or other natural disaster. If government agencies identify unaccounted for objects during an inspection, the company may face fines and other types of administrative penalties. Therefore, such great importance is attached to inventory of any kind, planned or unscheduled, complete or partial. Re-discounting Day is intended to emphasize the importance of activities for the audit of inventories and other assets.
Recently, the United States has seen a real boom in reports of unidentified flying objects. Anomalous phenomena in the sky and UFOs have been reported by both military aircraft pilots, technicians and radar operators, and civilians. In January 2023, the Pentagon released a long-awaited report on “aerial phenomena”, in which the National Intelligence Service, meteorologists and the Federal Aviation Administration participated. The report analyzed reports of 171 UFOs that were recorded in the sky from 2004 to 2021. and were neither birds, nor probes, nor drones. The devices, recorded by instruments and sensors, had unusual flight characteristics and capabilities: they either moved rapidly, then hovered, or abruptly changed their trajectory without visible jet streams that are formed at the engine output. These messages confirm the presence of representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations on Earth. And perhaps the hour is not far when they will make contact with people. In order to establish relations with aliens, an unusual holiday was established. July 21 is Invite an Alien to Live with You Day. The funny Invite an Alien to Live with You Day prepares people for the fact that earthlings are not alone in the Universe, and contact with representatives of other civilizations will take place in the very near future. Long-term observations by scientists from government programs and researchers from non-governmental organizations indicate that UFOs really exist. Alien aircraft in the shape of saucers (discs), triangles or cylinders move freely across the sky, and they are not controlled by people, but by representatives of other races. There are mass graves of aliens on Earth. So, in 2008, in the capital of Rwanda, Scandinavian archaeologist Hugo Childs found the remains of 50 aliens. The age of the find, bodies more than 2 m tall with disproportionately large heads that were missing nose, mouth and ears, was 600 years old. In 1939, burials of 719 creatures no taller than 120 cm were discovered in the rocks of Tibet. The aliens had large heads, very thin bones and limbs with 6 fingers. On the walls of Tibetan burials there were disks of a steel-like material with the Sun, Moon and Earth painted on them, from which a dotted line ran towards a planet beyond our system. After World War II, scientists were able to begin deciphering the inscriptions on metal tablets. The aliens' message contained a story about the crash of the ship of the Drop civilization 12 thousand years ago, the difficult life of the aliens in the mountains of Tibet and the gradual extinction due to the gravity of the planet and earthly diseases. These and other documented cases indicate that representatives of other civilizations contacted people hundreds and thousands of years ago. It is possible that representatives of some of them are very similar in appearance to earthlings and live next to us. Other aliens, judging by the Pentagon report, will soon stop hiding and appear before people, making direct contact. On the eve of this historical event, the Day “Invite an Alien to Live with You” was established.

The Buddhist holiday Maidari Khural is conceptually future-oriented and marks the advent of a significant epochal period with the enlightened Buddha Maitreya. According to average estimates, a new time will come in almost 6 billion years and will replace the reign of Buddha Shakyamuni. The celebration in honor of the onset of the highest being lasts 3 days, and is revered by Buddhists all over the world. Buddhist teachings say that the blessed and holy one named Maitreya is now in the Tushita heaven, where he preaches to the deities and waits for the opportunity to descend to earthly inhabitants and worldly affairs. An enlightened prophet will be able to descend to earth when life below has completely changed. Each person will live about 80 thousand long years without illness, and a single king will rule the world - a righteous Buddhist. The sutras say that Shakyamuni Buddha was also initially in the Tushita sky and only then descended to people, carrying out his magical reincarnation. This step was preceded by the ceremonial transfer of his crown to his predecessor, Buddha Maitreya. However, the news that people will become long-livers is not the only news. Buddhists predict that billions of years from now, only three diseases will plague the human race. These are desire, hunger and old age. The lands will become rich, fertile and prosperous. All populated areas - cities or villages - will be located so close that the rooster can easily overcome existing borders. The majestic Sankha will become the king of the huge continent of Jambu. He will have all the lands and 7 main treasures in his power - a wheel, a horse, an elephant, a gem, a wife, a householder and an adviser. Sankha will have more than 7 thousand courageous, valiant and honest sons. They will conquer the whole earth not by force or weapons, but by drachma (teaching). Thanks to this, everyone in the world will live in peace. And then a blessed one named Maitreya will come to earth, who will know people perfectly, will be able to tame violent men and become an enlightened teacher of deities and mere mortals. He will preach the perfect perfect drachma, complete and spotless. King Sankha will erect a sacrificial palace and make numerous donations to both the monks and the poor. And then he will shave his head bald, get rid of his beard, put on yellow robes and leave his home. He will renounce everything worldly, plunge into poverty, and become a hermit. He will do all this to achieve one single goal - the highest completion of Brahmanical existence. He will succeed. On this day, Buddhists from all over the world come to monasteries to participate in the sacrament of prayer. After prayers, the monks bring out sculptures of Maitreya. She is placed with due respect and reverence on a chariot under a huge canopy. The colorful cart is pulled by a sculpture of a horse or elephant. The monks themselves set the divine chariot in motion. The solemn procession slowly walks towards the sun. The procession around the temple, which lasts the whole day, is accompanied by the reading of prayers. The cyclical movement in a circle with tea drinking and prayers formed the basis for the name of the holiday - the Circulation of Maitreya. At the end there will be a large-scale feast and a ceremony for presenting gifts to members of the monastic brotherhood. The coming of Saint Maitreya is recognized by all Buddhist movements. He is especially revered in the countries of Central Asia. The image of Maitreya appears as a towering figure on a beautiful throne. Its distinctive features are its golden skin color, a vase with a miraculous drink that grants immortality, and a wheel of Dharma. Buddhists say that as long as it is spinning, the teaching continues.

According to the popular calendar, Procopius the Reaper is celebrated on July 21 (July 8, old style). Part of the name of the holiday was borrowed from the church calendar - the date of honoring the memory of the holy great martyr Procopius. Procopius was born in the 3rd century in Jerusalem, was introduced to secular society from childhood, received a decent education, and bore the name Neanias. Being an idolater, he served at court, and when the ruler Diocletian persecuted Christians, Neania was sent to Alexandria to exterminate the Christian movement. However, on the way to the city, the Savior appeared to Neanias in a vision and reproached the pagan for his intentions. Then Neanii repented and believed in the Lord, after which he became a fierce defender of Christians. For this, the ruler ordered him to be punished: to be tortured and locked in a damp dungeon. At night, the spirit of Jesus Christ appeared there and baptized the martyr, giving him the name Procopius. The idolaters failed to break Procopius; with his patience and faith he set an example for Christians, so the pagans cut off his head. And the people called Procopius the Reaper. By this day, due to the hot weather, grain crops in the fields began to ripen. Residents visited the temple in the morning and asked the saint for a successful harvest. Then they went to the fields and reaped the ears of corn with a sickle. The peasants tried to quickly harvest the ripened rye while the weather was dry. Often, while working, residents whispered various conspiracies: to relieve back pain, for an easy harvest, or for the lack of rain. The people believed that on Procopius the Reaper, a kamaha appeared in the field - an insect that harmed useful crops. It formed a ball and rolled across the field with the help of the wind. Meeting a kamaha during the harvest meant that prosperity would follow until next year. Therefore, the peasants carefully peered into the field in the hope of seeing a ball of insects. It was also noted that rye is ready for harvest during the ripening period of blueberries. It was for her that the residents went into the forest that day. It was difficult to collect it, since it took a lot of time and was often disturbed by annoying mosquitoes living in the shade of forest bushes. But the collected berries were worth it, as they contained many useful substances. First of all, blueberries were valued for the presence of vitamin C, which is necessary to strengthen the body. They believed that it helps improve vision, strengthen the walls of blood vessels and the heart, and normalize the digestive tract. Blueberries were given to children to improve memory. Housewives made preserves and jams from its berries and added them to pies. Based on the weather on Procopius the Reaper, they determined what the winter season would be like: if it was raining and cool, they were preparing for a snowy, harsh winter, but a clear day foreshadowed a warm winter without heavy precipitation. Overly active sparrows promised good weather in the future. Observing rain without wind, residents expected prolonged precipitation.

Orthodox holidays on July 21:
The icon of the Mother of God is the most revered in Orthodoxy. Millions of people pray to the Heavenly Intercessor to help and heal. The miracle of the appearance of the icon of the Mother of God in Kazan served as the root cause of the great holiday with solemn liturgies and prayer services, which is celebrated annually on July 21. For a long time, the icon of the Kazan Mother of God was worshiped, and they sacredly believed in its gracious and miraculous power. Even Tsar Ivan the Terrible, while preparing for the assault on Tatar Kazan, heard the ringing of bells on the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He took this as a divine sign. Kazan submitted. More than 60 thousand Russians were rescued from Tatar captivity. Then they began to preach the gospel teaching to the Muslim Tatars and pagans. However, converting them to another faith turned out to be a very protracted and difficult task. An icon of the Mother of God was revealed to help the missionaries. A terrible and all-consuming fire broke out in the Kazan Kremlin. Believers interpreted it as an omen of the total fall of Islam. The fire element served as an impetus for the development of the most incredible miracles and events. Not far from the site of the fire in 1579, the archer Danila began to build his house. His family helped him with this - his wife and daughter Matrona. In a dream, the Mother of God began to come to a 9-year-old girl. She urgently ordered the icon, which was buried deeply during the period of Muslim rule, to be taken out of the ground. The girl asked her mother to help her, but her parents did not pay attention to their daughter’s requests. However, after the Mother of God appeared for the third time and indicated the place where the icon was hidden, the girl herself went to excavate it. Mom’s heart trembled, and she rushed to help her fragile daughter. Together they brought the icon to light. After the “extraction” of the icon, Archbishop Jeremiah arrived in Kazan. A prayer service was held, and the procession headed to the Annunciation Cathedral (the first Orthodox church in Kazan). At this time, the first miracle happened - the blind Nikita and Joseph received their sight. Ivan IV ordered the construction of a large temple and the founding of a nunnery at the site of the “discovery” of the icon. Matrona and her mother took monastic vows and became nuns. The small icon very quickly became a national shrine, which was worshiped and sacredly believed in its extraordinary power. She has repeatedly helped out in difficult and tragic events in the Russian chronicle, changing fate and the course of history. From the moment the icon of the Mother of God appeared in Kazan, the legendary campaign of Ataman Povolsky began, which ended with the annexation of Siberia. Thanks to the holy image, Russian pioneers sailed the Pacific Ocean and helped neighboring settlements. During the Time of Troubles, when the Poles ruled Moscow and there were bloody civil strife, the holy martyr Hermogenes wrote a message to the people of Nizhny Novgorod. He turned to them for help so that they could maintain brotherhood and stop robberies with the support of the Kazan Metropolitan Ephraim. Dmitry Pozharsky responded to the call, gathered an army and, with a list from the Kazan Icon, set off to storm Moscow. Their victorious invasion was preceded by three days of fasting and prayers before the holy face of the Mother of God. Archbishop Arseny of Elasson, imprisoned in the capital, foresaw that Sergius of Radonezh appeared in his cell, illuminated by divine light. He said that the prayers had their effect and Moscow would be behind the Russians. And so it happened. The squads with the icon entered the Kremlin. Thanks to the patronage and intercession of the Mother of God, Russia was saved. Prince Pozharsky decided to leave the Kazan Icon in Moscow. Peter the Great prayed frantically for the success of the battle of Poltava in front of the icon of the Virgin Mary. The Emperor then transferred one of the copies from the icon to St. Petersburg, where for a long time it was in the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, and then in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary on Nevsky. As soon as the Kazan Cathedral was opened, the holy icon of the Most Pure Mother of God appeared there and remained to this day. This is the most revered icon, to which the Orthodox always turn for help when enduring any adversity, troubles and illnesses.
