Holidays 12 january
Since 1996, in Russia, January 12 is annually celebrated as the Day of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, according to the Decree of B.N. Yeltsin. On this day, all employees, regardless of rank and title, celebrate their professional holiday. The Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation is a special state structure, the main responsibility of which is a special form of protection of the rights of citizens and the interests of the country in the legal field. On January 12, 1722, Emperor Peter I created a special apparatus of state power and established the post of Prosecutor General for careful supervision of the strict implementation of laws in the country. The Senate and other government bodies were subordinate to her. The work of the body today is very important; it plays the role of the supreme court on any issues for citizens. Prosecutors will not ignore any improper implementation of state law. All their actions are always clearly regulated by the Constitution of the Russian Federation. January 12th is a confirmation of the importance of the structure for employees of such an indispensable government body. On this day, many new appointments take place, promotions in positions, the awarding of especially valuable titles “Honorary Worker of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation”, and for “Impeccable Service”. The heroes of the occasion are looking forward to this holiday and are preparing in advance. A festive atmosphere reigns in the work collectives, congratulations and wishes are heard. In the evening, as a rule, the banquet halls of restaurants are crowded with corporate celebrations. Relatives and friends usually join here. Also on this day, industry veterans, who have served a lot for the benefit of the Fatherland, and those who are just about to join the ranks of new recruits to the prosecutor’s office - law students - do not go unnoticed. On this day, congratulations are heard both on TV screens and on the radio. High-ranking officials congratulate their colleagues. In a number of cities, concerts and musical evenings are organized on the day of the prosecutor's office employee. Holders of such an important profession do not go unnoticed on this day, because fulfilling the human rights function is especially valuable in life.
How festively the Slavs celebrated this date is unknown. Most likely, January 12 - Abduction Day is a kind of reminder to men and women about the contradictory relationships between the sexes, about the imperfections of this world. This is a memorable day, warning about the need to behave carefully, prudently, not for girls to walk alone along dark streets, deserted alleys - they risk getting into trouble, meeting someone with bad intentions. On January 12, the Slavs were busy making amulets: they made jewelry, embroidered ornaments on women’s clothing that prevented violence against women, protected them from evil spirits and bad male thoughts. There was a precedent in history! Or is this how the Gods taught worldly wisdom to their people? One way or another, the legend says that two Gods, Perun and Veles, fell in love with Diva Dadola. Dadola gave her heart and love to Perun, rejected Veles. But how can a man, not just a man - God, come to terms with such an insult? He did not calm down, did not reconcile himself. He chose the right moment and befuddled the beauty, pretending to be a lily of the valley. Diva leaned over to the delicate flower, sighed the poisonous aroma and immediately lost consciousness. Veles took advantage of women’s helplessness, and did what he had planned, appeasing his pride. Dishonestly, unkindly, not out of mutual love, but, as a result of Veles’s passion, another God appeared among the Slavs - Yarilo, the son of Veles and Dodola. Perun raged, drove Veles through forests and mountains, throwing thunder and lightning. And the wife got it - her husband turned her into a ladybug. This date reminds us of marital relationships and fidelity. January 12, the Day of Kidnappings, warns against arranged marriages, infidelity, and drunkenness. Learn, Slavs, from the example of the Gods, do not take wives who are not of your class, do not choose a companion based on appearance - look into her soul. Don’t go on a visit with your wife - brag about her beauty, amuse a man’s pride, live life with your wife - share joy and sorrow in half. The Gods had an instructive story. The Goddess Marena enchanted the intoxicated Dazhdbog, the illegitimate son of Perun, who, in a not entirely sober state, fell madly in love with the seductress. I decided to get married. And Marena, flighty, has already refused to give love and marriage to Koshchei the Black God. But she decided that Dazhdbog, although not entirely legitimate, was still the son of a more powerful god, and she needed to marry him. Marena did not take into account the fact that she and Dazhdbog were representatives of different forces, so their married life did not work out. She went to Koshchei, gave birth to his demon daughters, lived with him for a long time, happily, and the unfortunate Dazhdbog suffered in search of his cheating wife. The almighty Perun protected the Slavic peoples from all kinds of troubles, dark forces, and misfortunes. Apparently, in memory of his exploits and good deeds, the Slavs designated January 12 as the Day of Abductions - it was on this day, having expelled all evil spirits from the Earth, the Thunderer stuck a sparkling sword into the ground. How much speculation in these stories, how much reality - does it really matter? It is important that passing from mouth to mouth, from generation to generation, Slavic myths filled with deep meaning and wisdom have survived to this day. On this day, let's think about life, morality, safety, love, fidelity, betrayal and children. Let's teach our offspring the basics of safe life in everything: in play, walking, studying, work, relationships, friendship and in choosing a life partner. Health to all of us and the complete absence of dark demonic forces!
Cryopreservation of organisms leads to the cessation of their vital activity and long-term preservation in their original form. The first experiments on freezing dead people in laboratory conditions began in the 60s of the last century. Since that time, about 400 bodies have been placed in tanks with liquid nitrogen at a temperature of -196 °C in the United States. In Russia, a similar service appeared in 2005. On January 12, World Cryonics Day is celebrated, also called Bedford Day in honor of the first frozen patient - James Hiram Bedford. The American professor suffered from an incurable form of kidney cancer, which also affected his lungs. In the prospect of imminent death, James Bedford proposed his candidacy for the experiment, which was approved by cryopreservation specialists. On January 12, 1967, in California at the age of 73, he was frozen as the first volunteer several hours after his death. Bedford left a will, according to which 100 thousand dollars were transferred to a special fund for further research in the field of cryonics. Since that time, scientists have begun to actively study and engage in freezing both people and pets, as well as individual parts of the body - for example, the human brain. This procedure is carried out in anticipation of revival in the future. The standard contract with the patient and cryoservice is concluded for 100 years with a possible extension for 25 years. In the USA, 2 public organizations have been created that will monitor the resurrection of people (removal from freezing) and the restoration of their property rights. In all countries of the world where this practice of preserving bodies by cryopreservation is used, the protocol for the procedure is the same. First, the body is cooled to 0 °C to inhibit the processes of cell death and decomposition. After this, the blood is removed from the body, and a cryoprotectant is introduced instead. Next, it is cooled to dry ice (-80 °C). At this stage, you can hold a memorial service or funeral service for the deceased. The body is then permanently cryopreserved in a liquid nitrogen dewar. Many scientists do not share the optimism of patients who enter into contracts to be frozen after death. They explain their skepticism by the impossibility of preserving the integrity of the human brain, which consists of 80% water. Ice crystals destroy its cell membranes, and it is impossible to restore them after long-term storage. Optimists believe in the rapid pace of development of modern science, which will figure out how to circumvent the difficulties arising during cryonics. Scientists have compiled psychological portraits of people who dream of freezing their bodies. Patients of cryogenic storage facilities dream of immortality and consider their mission on earth unfulfilled, assessing their life as unsuccessful. People pay money for the illusory hope of resurrecting not only themselves, but also their pets - dogs and cats. Sponsors are found to pay for the freezing of some patients. They offer the relatives of the deceased to bear all the costs of the procedure. Thus, specialists of the KrioRus company are aware of the fact that sponsors contacted the relatives of Zhanna Friske and Lyubov Polishchuk. They did not receive permission for cryopreservation. It is human nature to look into the future with hope and believe in miracles. It is possible that in a few decades, science will find a way to revive frozen people through the emergence of innovative biomedical technologies. Therefore, scientists, potential cryogenic storage patients and ordinary people who share the idea of human immortality celebrate Bedford Day on January 12.
After the New Year and Christmas holidays, it is difficult to get back into a working rut. Workdays for many begin with overcoming their own laziness and reluctance to go to the office, service or production. For everyone who cannot concentrate on their professional responsibilities, “Work Harder” Day was invented. Work Harder Day, which is celebrated annually on January 12, encourages you to make an effort and start working more actively. We have been familiar with the proverbs since childhood: “Water does not flow under a lying stone,” “If you have done the job, walk boldly,” and “If there was a hunt, there is still a lot of work ahead.” Popular wisdom perfectly illustrates the main motive of Work Harder Day. On January 12, it is customary to work more than always, without being distracted by extraneous matters. In honor of the holiday, people stay late in the office or other workplace, leaving it later than usual. Funny pictures or photographs on the topic of labor posted on social networks gain a large number of views and positive comments. Psychologists, understanding the complexities of the challenge posed by Work Harder Day, believe that each of us has the power to increase motivation on our own. Experts recommend rewarding yourself for both completing large projects and small tasks. You can work more actively and receive positive emotions not only on January 12, but also on other days. To do this, you need to listen to some simple advice:• surround yourself with hardworking people;• find a job that brings not only money, but also pleasure;• break one large task into several small ones, solving them as needed;• stay focused on your business and ways to achieve it; • maintain a positive attitude even in case of failures. In honor of Work Harder Day, humorous competitions are held among colleagues. Anyone who distinguishes himself in fulfilling the tasks assigned to him receives the honorary title of Stakhanovite. Employees reward the “production hitter” with fun prizes and provide various privileges. So, over the next week, colleagues serve the winner coffee directly to his desk (so as not to be distracted from work) or skip the line in the cafeteria (the body’s resources need to be maintained). Each team that celebrates Work Harder Day comes up with its own rituals. It's no secret that hard work and a responsible attitude towards one's professional responsibilities helps one advance up the career ladder. Hard work not only determines the course of everyday work, but also creates wonderful occasions for future celebrations. It is worth celebrating Work Harder Day first, so that after a while you can celebrate among your colleagues a promotion to a position, the awarding of an academic degree or another military rank.
The book with the fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, the heroes of which were Kai and Gerda, was published at the end of December 1844 and quickly gained popularity. The adventures of two friends, a girl and a boy, ended happily, despite meeting the Snow Queen living among the permafrost in Lapland. The heroine, invented by the writer, became the embodiment of spiritual coldness, indifference, eternal silence and evil. The Snow Queen, the mistress of winter and death, is depicted on New Year's cards; films and performances are made based on Anderson's philosophical fairy tale. Nature, which a person thinks he has studied well, presents various gifts and never ceases to amaze. The artistic image created by the Danish writer turned out to be so realistic that, despite its fabulousness, it took on a life of its own. Thus, in 2015, in northern Canada, eyewitnesses saw and photographed an aurora in the form of the Snow Queen. NASA experts claim that this something was not a ghost; the figure of a woman in a snow-white robe did not look like aliens, as ufologists usually describe them. The realism of the image that appeared in the sky, reminiscent of a mirage, once again made me think about how thin the line is between the imaginary and the real world. Many people dream of getting into the sparkling palaces of the kingdom of the Snow Queen, in which everything is perfect, from ice floes broken into even pieces to snowflakes of the same shape. A holiday has been established in honor of the heroine of Anderson’s work, who has become a household name. Every year on January 12, Snow Queen Day is celebrated. Icy mind games are what Kai was doing while visiting the mistress of frost and mathematically precisely calibrated eternity. Calm and indifferent, the Snow Queen, devoid of a heart and incapable of love, is the embodiment of ideal beauty and strength that is impossible to cope with. However, the sincere feelings of Kai and Gerda helped them defeat the embodiment of evil, cold and death. Snow Queen Day reminds people of the value of love and friendship, which cannot be bought for any wealth in the world. An unusual celebration is a good reason to send beautiful cards and letters to your loved ones with snowy landscapes and poems about winter. Fans of the work of G.H. Anderson, in honor of the holiday, they reread his famous fairy tale and share with others their observations about the deep philosophical meaning contained in it. Is it possible to comprehend the world with cold absolute reason alone, without resorting to feelings? Is beauty devoid of soul the ideal and embodiment of perfection? Those who celebrate Snow Queen Day on January 12 are trying to find answers to these and other questions.
Often in childhood one could hear such teasers as “Red is shameless”, “Red, red, freckled...”, and similar offensive nicknames. People have different hair colors, but only red-haired people are honored to have their own holiday. January 12th is Redheads' Kiss Day. Regarding the history of the creation of the holiday, versions vary. According to one, the Dutch artist’s search for red-haired models led to the fact that more than 150 girls with red hair came to the casting. Subsequently, not only girls and women began to gather, children and men also joined them. In 2008, about 2,000 red-haired people gathered, and these were not only Dutch, but also citizens of 15 other countries. The second version says that Canadian Derek Forgey created “Kiss Redhead Day” as opposed to “Kick Redhead Day.” The third version tells about two red-haired sisters who came up with this holiday. You can take any version you like as a basis, but since 2008, this funny holiday has become international. On this day, all red-haired people kiss each other as a sign of appreciation for their hair color. Not only those in whose honor this holiday is organized can participate in the celebration, but also people with a different hair color. To do this, you need to find a person with red hair and kiss him, with the consent of the person with fiery hair color. Although it is not so easy to find such a person, according to statistics, there are no more than 1% of native redheads. People with fiery hair color attract attention in any crowd. When celebrating “Redhead Kiss Day,” lectures are held on the nature of red hair, concerts, fascinating and interesting scenes from the life of redheads, and “Redhead Festivals” are held with the participation of well-known artists with redheaded hair. Red-haired artists create beautiful memorable compositions and paintings and sell them for a nominal fee to everyone. According to legend, red-haired people are direct descendants of the Celts. In the kingdom of Great Britain, there are the most people with fiery hair color - 13% of the total population of the kingdom. In Ireland and Scotland, such people are highly respected. Almost all red-haired people are left-handed and creative, they are closer to creation than destruction.
Domestic Tree Planting Day
According to the folk calendar, Anis's Day is celebrated on January 12 (December 30, old style). According to legend, the martyr Anisia of Thessalonica lived in the 3rd century in Greece. Raised by righteous, rich Christians, the girl was orphaned early. In order to get into the Kingdom of God after death, Anisia distributed the inheritance she received to the poor, orphans and the sick, and she herself provided all possible assistance to the suffering. In those days there was a severe persecution of Christians; any pagan could kill them without permission from the authorities. When Anisia was going to the temple for a meeting, she met a pagan warrior. He forcibly tried to take the Christian woman to make a sacrifice to the pagan gods, but Anisia broke free, praising Christ. The angry pagan pulled out a sword and hacked the unfortunate woman to death. The body of the martyr was buried in the city of Thessaloniki at the city gates. Among the people, Anisia was called the Stomachwoman for the tradition of slaughtering pigs on this day and preparing various dishes from their stomachs and offal. Kendyukh, a boiled stomach stuffed with onions and pig meat, was often served on the table. When cutting up a pig, they guessed at its internal organs: a neat spleen foreshadowed a cold winter, and an empty stomach meant the approach of cold weather. From Anisya's day came the period of hunting wild pigs. The men went together into the forest to catch boars, dug a hole, covered it with branches and drove the beast into a trap. The caught prey was carried through the village on rods. Women had the fate of cutting and preparing the carcass. Pork dishes at festive feasts symbolized the cyclical nature of life. If a person ate pork on Vasiliev’s evening (January 13), then his life in the new year began as if from scratch, and problems and troubles remained in the past year. According to legend, it was forbidden to salt ready-made dishes on Anisin’s day in order to avoid misfortune in the house. Saint Anisya was popularly associated as a helper for stomach diseases; in prayers they asked her for a cure. But it was not worth embroidering, spinning or knitting on this day, and they also refused gifts from unfamiliar people. A handkerchief found near the house meant that the owner had been damaged. Based on the snowfall on Anisin's day, a wet summer was predicted. Sunny weather and the chirping of sparrows meant warming was underway. The cloudy sky at night was noticed before the weather changed. The wind from the south foreshadowed a good harvest, and from the west - a successful catch of fish in the summer.
Orthodox holidays January 12:
In the Orthodox calendar, January 12 marks the Day of Remembrance of St. Macarius, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus'. His life was filled with good deeds aimed at ensuring that Russia became the political and spiritual heir of Byzantium. The saint understood how important it was for the country to establish printing. Tsar Ivan the Terrible, whom he crowned to the throne, always took into account his opinion. According to sources that preserve information about the Metropolitan of Moscow, Macarius was born in 1482 in Moscow. His parents were pious people and at birth they named their son in honor of the Archangel Michael. The boy's father Leonty died shortly after Mikhail was born. The mother was grieving the loss of her husband and decided to take monastic vows, after which they began to call her Euphrosyne. Having matured, Mikhail decided that he also wanted to serve the Lord. He was accepted as a novice into the Pafnutiev Borovsky Monastery, which was located in the Kaluga region, on the outskirts of the small town of Borovsk. During his tonsure, he was named Macarius, part of the famous Egyptian desert ascetic who preached Orthodoxy. At the time when Macarius became the High Hierarch, he had a great influence on the young Ivan the Terrible, whom he himself later crowned to the Russian throne. Despite the fact that the main goal of the Metropolitan of Moscow was to serve God, he contributed to the development of the history of Russian literature. Saint Macarius understood how important a systematic approach to the presentation of history is for future generations. Under him, the Degree Book was compiled, telling about Russian history, starting from ancient times, and printing was also established in Rus'. Thanks to him, the opening of the first printing house became possible. According to contemporaries, the Metropolitan was a wonderful man, whose name became very significant for Rus' in the 16th century. Saint Macarius died in 1563. The Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus' was canonized in 1988. This happened during the celebrations in honor of the Millennium of the Baptism of Rus'. Subsequently, a lot of literature of different genres was published about the life of Macarius and his good deeds. The main book creation of Metropolitan Macarius is considered to be the Menaion of Chetya. Many years later, in the 19th century, they decided to reissue them and rename them the Great Makaryev Minaions of Chetyi in honor of the great saint. However, publication was stopped in 1917 without being fully completed. In the 20th century, the May Menaion was published by the Assumption edition. During the preparation of this publication, experts identified the missing Sofia May Menaion. Along with the primary sources, various creations of Russian authors were placed in Miny. Thanks to the work carried out, the content of these works is also accessible to modern readers.
