Holidays 19 december
Not a single enterprise in the country functions normally without a supplier. A supplier is a person who delivers goods for the smooth operation of an enterprise. This specialist is engaged in the search for materials necessary for production, their delivery to the company and the preparation of documentation. It is for Russian suppliers that a holiday called Supplier's Day was created. It is celebrated annually on December 19th. Its appearance occurred thanks to an application in 2001 from the large enterprise Simplex, which imports polymer materials to the Russian Federation. The idea was supported by supply communities, but the country's authorities have not yet officially confirmed the holiday. However, supply professionals are happy to celebrate. It is worth noting an interesting symbol of Supply Day - the Goldfish. The prototype was a fish from a children's fairy tale, which gets everything it wants out of nowhere. Just the intermediary activity consists in the ability to find goods, it is important that their quality is of a good level, and the prices are favorable for production. The supplier must conclude an agreement and monitor its implementation, including the timely delivery of goods to the company. Not everyone can be a supplier. It is important to have in your arsenal such abilities as communication skills, determination, and attentiveness. You should have some knowledge of legislative law when concluding contracts; know the basics of accounting, drawing up primary documentation; understand the process of organizing an enterprise, ordering the required volume of raw materials for a certain processing period. Looking back, the supplier profession can be seen with different job criteria. For example, during the Soviet era, the supplier prioritized obtaining the required goods that were in short supply, and quality and price were considered secondary issues. After perestroika, it was more difficult to obtain raw materials for production, while the cost changed at large intervals each time. Now the work of the intermediary has become streamlined, the supply market is sufficient, it is easier to agree on fast delivery, and prices are more stable.
The profession of counterintelligence has been known long before our era. Descriptions and instructions for conducting counterintelligence operations can be found in the well-known treatise “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. This area of human activity is probably the most closed. It is useless to search for the truth even after centuries. Counterintelligence is a complex political game played by professionals. The main task of the counterintelligence service is to counter enemy intelligence. Despite its seemingly protective function, the operations carried out by the service are widespread geographically and often bloody in nature. In Russia, counterintelligence has existed since imperial times. The date of the professional holiday celebrated in a narrow circle received a start from the decision of the Central Committee of the RCP (b). In 1918, it was decided to create a special service to combat counter-revolution, subversion and espionage activities. On December 19, the Special Department of the Cheka began to operate. Decades have passed since then, the service has changed its name more than once, only the tasks performed remained base, which, perhaps, only expanded. During the difficult period of the Civil War, counterintelligence officers stopped sabotage at enterprises, attempts on the country's leadership, and caught spies. In the first years of work, dedication to the ideals of the revolution was valued in employees, and professional qualities were obtained and honed during real operations, which took place almost daily. The first leaders: M. S. Kedrov, F. E. Dzerzhinsky, V. R. Menzhinsky, laid the foundation for high professionalism, devotion to the Motherland and the cool image of the Soviet counterintelligence. The first decades of history our countries were not calm. The fighting took place on invisible fronts. The professionalism of the employees and the number of successful operations grew continuously. The test of strength, as for many services, was the Great Patriotic War. The abbreviation "SMERSH" is known throughout the world. “Death to Spies” neutralized almost 40 thousand spies and saboteurs during the war years. Service members acted behind enemy lines and on the front lines, showing heroism, courage and selfless devotion to the Motherland. In the post-war years, the development of counterintelligence continued at an accelerated pace. It was impossible to act carelessly. There were hundreds of military and civilian installations outside the country that needed protection. Counterintelligence officers prevented provocations and terrorist attacks, and helped wax units save the lives of our citizens. The training system for counterintelligence officers was constantly being improved. Each new decade made its own adjustments to the political, military and economic space of the country and the world. New challenges required new responses. Nowadays, the military counterintelligence service is part of the structure of the federal security service. And in peacetime, ordinary soldiers and counterintelligence officers stand guard over the lives of citizens and the well-being of the country. Every year on December 19, veterans and active service employees celebrate their professional holiday - Military Counterintelligence Day. On this day, in addition to receiving congratulations and well-deserved awards, service employees remember and pay tribute to their fallen colleagues.
Poverty of a significant part of the world's population continues to be one of the main problems of developed societies for many years. Therefore, in economically developed countries it is considered an important and necessary task to provide support to the poor. In 1995, the UN decided to declare December 19th the International Day to Help the Poor. This idea appeared after another conference on economic development, when it became clear that the current situation in the world is not consistent with generally accepted international principles and human moral standards. On this day, the world community tries to actively draw attention to the problems of those living in poverty. Scientists define poverty as the lack of material means for a full and healthy existence. Many large families are below the poverty line; families with a sick child; disabled people and pensioners who are unable to work; people of blue-collar professions engaged in unskilled and low-paid labor. Poverty prevents a person from fully participating in society and achieving their full potential. It is very sad when children from low-income families, with the same abilities, have less chance of achieving success than their peers living in wealthy families. Helping those in need is one of the main rules of any religion and the main task of humanity as a whole. Many countries have adopted government programs, and there are voluntary, public and religious organizations to help the poor. They are joined by prominent public figures - politicians, actors, musicians, philanthropists and many wealthy people. On the International Day of Relief for the Poor, charity auctions and campaigns to raise funds and items for low-income citizens are organized. Poverty is one of the most pressing problems in modern Russia. The number of poor people has increased after large-scale perestroika processes in the socio-economic sphere and political relations in the post-Soviet space. Social programs are being developed to maintain their standard of living. The Orthodox Church, charitable organizations, volunteers and all caring people provide great assistance.
Linoleum's birthday or World Linoleum Day is a rather unusual holiday that is celebrated every year on December 19. This type of flooring is quite popular due to its properties and performance characteristics. This day has been celebrated in various countries of the world, including Russia, since 1863, when a new method for producing this type of flooring was patented. This discovery belongs to the British chemist and inventor Frederick Walt. On this day, it is customary to hold various kinds of public events of a cultural and entertainment nature, as well as thematic exhibitions and conferences dedicated to new achievements in this field. The holiday is very popular among workers of factories and factories that produce linoleum, as well as its sale. The name of this material reflects the main components from which it is made. This is the fabric that serves as the base, and the oil that is used for impregnation. This provides a significant increase in the strength of the finished material and increases its protective properties. Currently, Russia ranks fifth in the world in the production of linoleum of various types and purposes. Modern technological solutions make it possible to create a material that has certain unique characteristics and is intended for certain specific purposes. Among other things, such flooring can have absolutely any color, as well as a wide variety of ornaments and patterns, which allows you to create a stylish and interesting design in the room. In addition, our country is a leader in the use of this floor covering for flooring. Thus, material of this category can be found in almost every sixth room. In the twenties of the last century, a material such as linoleum could completely disappear from the market. This was caused by a shortage of rubber raw materials, which were used for the production of tires and wheels for cars. In this regard, the cost of flooring was maximum. However, in 1949, manufacturers created a special type of canvas, thanks to which the production and sale of linoleum returned to its previous levels. Therefore, such a material as linoleum has deserved its celebration over such a long period of its existence.
Jumping rope is one of the favorite pastimes of childhood. Fitness trainers do not advise giving up this type of physical activity in adulthood. Skipping exercises (from the English skip - “jump”) helps strengthen all the muscles of the body, including the heart. Jumping rope is not only a good alternative to cardio equipment, but also a mandatory warm-up element for boxers, as well as a separate sport. An unusual holiday was established in his honor - Skipping Day, which is celebrated on December 19. It is no coincidence that fitness instructors and coaches included jumping rope in their sports training program. All boxers, from Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield to Alexander Usik and Kostya Dzyu, know that skipping promotes:• development of endurance and coordination of movements, the ability to transfer body weight from one leg to another;• increases striking force and power athlete;• strengthens ligaments, muscles of the arms and legs;• develops the ability to keep the body in a relaxed state for a long time. Jumping rope is one of the aesthetic sports along with pole dance acrobatics, aerial balance and other types of sports choreography. Rope skipping became a separate discipline in the 1980s in the USA. In 2012, the Federation of Sports Choreography was organized in Russia, which, among other sports, promotes jumping rope with the performance of tricks of varying complexity, including acrobatic ones. Team skipping competitions have been held since 1997. During the European and World Championships, athletes are assessed both on speed, endurance and strength, and on the skill of performing the freestyle complex. This is the most spectacular part of rope skipping. Athletes demonstrate their skills alone or in a team of up to 6 people, jump over two skipping ropes rotating in opposite directions (double dutch), use the “Chinese Wheel”, “Traveler” techniques, etc. Observing their virtuosity and skill helps to understand that Skipping is not child's play, but a physically challenging, serious activity. Those who are not preparing to become a boxer or a member of a rope-skipping team should still pay attention to such a useful exercise as jumping rope. Jumping rope is also in demand during relay races, various games and competitions. Fans of this sport and fitness training enthusiastically celebrate Skipping Day on December 19th.
Mudras, intertwining hands and fingers, have long been part of the ritual sign language of Hinduism and Buddhism. It is believed that a certain position of the hands during meditation fills with strength, regulates the level of prana, and directs energy flows in the right direction. Many Orthodox saints are depicted on icons with their fingers crossed or joined in a special way. This is explained by the fact that Christian righteous people practiced Vedic mudras and were aware of their influence on man and the world around him. Today, crossing hands and fingers is practiced by both yogis and Buddhists living in Asia, as well as people with a Western mentality. Thus, Jnana Mudra is used to relieve anxiety and depression, concentrate attention, unleash creativity and improve memory. The “Lotus” mudra helps to open the heart towards divine forces and love, to achieve mutual understanding with people around you, “Sink” relieves diseases of the nose and throat, and relieves tension in the vocal cords. In different cultures, connected fingers have their own meaning, which depends on the context of use of the gesture. The Slavs, in order to protect themselves from evil spirits, the evil eye, curses and other energy attacks, have long rolled up and hidden a “fig” in their pocket. Today, the gesture, which is popularly called “kukish”, is considered obscene. Americans and Russians, as a sign of agreement and wishes for a successful outcome, show “OK” with the index finger and thumb connected in a circle. In Tunisia this gesture is deciphered as “I will kill you”, in France “You are a complete zero”, in Syria - “Go to hell”. The split of the Russian Church into the Old Believers and the Orthodox led to the fact that believers began to make the sign of the cross in different ways. Adherents of Patriarch Nikon, the initiator of the reforms of the 1650s, used three fingers, adherents of long-standing traditions - two. Europeans cross their index and middle fingers in a special way “for good luck,” but in Judaism there is a religious ban on their interlacing. An unusual holiday has been established in honor of the gestures that a person makes with his hands. Finger Crossing Day is celebrated on December 19th every year. Mudras are used not only to normalize a person’s physical and mental state, but also for magical purposes. In combination with affirmations and mantras, fingers intertwined in a special way cleanse the human biofield of foreign inclusions, help increase well-being and connect to financial flows. Therefore, the holiday celebrated on December 19, those who are not happy with their financial situation, should devote to the beginning of the practice of the mudras “Kubera”, “Attracting money”, etc. It is believed that crossing fingers helps to fulfill a cherished wish. To do this, you need to concentrate on your dream, cast aside all doubts and join your hands in the “Surabhi” mudra. With the help of magical gestures, you can also melt your heart and attract the attention of your lover, connect to the Akashic Chronicles, the information field of the Earth, achieve connection with your higher self and other spiritual heights. Trust your intuition and believe in your own strength! Crossing Fingers Day encourages you to test the effectiveness of mudras and other sacred gestures in practice.

According to the folk calendar, St. Nicholas the Winter Day is celebrated on December 19 (December 6, old style). Its origin comes from the church holiday - St. Nicholas the Pleasant, who is also called the Wonderworker. It was believed that from the day of St. Nicholas the Winter began a chain of Christmas holidays, right up to Epiphany. The life of Nicholas the Wonderworker began in the 3rd century. He was the only child of a noble Christian family. From childhood, Nicholas chose the path of serving the Almighty, so after the death of his parents he distributed the inheritance to the poor, and he himself became a priest, then rose to the rank of bishop. During his long life, the saint performed hundreds of good deeds, for which he was canonized after his departure to heaven. Among the people, Saint Nicholas was the most respected after Jesus Christ and the Most Holy Theotokos. He was presented as a kind and compassionate helper in all matters. Many considered Nicholas their patron: in their prayers, the beggars asked for material assistance, the sick for health, travelers for safe roads, women for family well-being. Starting the day of St. Nicholas the Winter, peasants went to church for a prayer service and prayed for a good harvest in the coming year. Then folk festivities were organized: a common table was set up, beer was put out, people sang and danced. The food left over after the holiday was distributed to the poor. On the night of St. Nicholas the Winter, they made a wish, believing that the miracle worker would help it come true. But most of all, children were looking forward to this holiday, because gifts were traditionally given on St. Nicholas Day. Only obedient children received them, so the children had an incentive to behave well. It was Saint Nicholas the Pleasant who became the prototype of modern Santa Claus. Usually, severe frosts came to St. Nicholas the Winter, and with them the period of matchmaking, because after Christmas, fasting ended and it was allowed to have a wedding. Young people who had not been matched were busy preparing for the upcoming holidays or doing fortune telling. In addition, all kinds of fairs were held on Nikolin's day. On this day, people monitored the weather: if frost was noticed, then the next year promised to produce excellent seedlings. A clear and frosty day foreshadowed a bad harvest. A strong blizzard predicted a rather harsh winter. The weather of Winter Nicholas was similar to Spring Nicholas, held on May 22.
Orthodox holidays on December 19:
The Day of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is celebrated by both Catholics and Orthodox Christians. The only difference is the dates. If Catholics celebrate this day according to the Gregorian calendar on December 6, then Orthodox laity honor St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on December 19, based on the Julian calendar. Also, every Thursday, the Russian Orthodox Church honors the memory of the saint with special hymns. Regardless of the day of veneration of the saint, this celebration is awaited by children all over the world, because St. Nicholas the Wonderworker will definitely bring them a gift. Famed as a saint of God, Nicholas was born in 270 AD. in Patara. In those years it was the richest city of the Lycian Peninsula, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea. The parents of the future saint were Nona and Theophanes, who lived in prosperity and deeply believed in God. They not only raised their child in a Christian spirit, but also immediately baptized him, which was rare in those days. The upbringing and lessons taught to the boy by his parents convinced him that the worst thing that can happen in human life is committing sins and siding with evil. Left without parents and barely reaching adulthood, the young man began to help those in need. One of these actions was helping families in need. By presenting the unfortunate people with the gold he had left as an inheritance, he tried to remain unnoticed. However, the townspeople tracked down Nicholas and, surprised by his modesty, sincerity and selflessness, elected him as their bishop. During his life, the saint of God accomplished many things, which are not all known to us. An amazingly strong and zealous faith helped him in this. Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, one of the few saints, peacefully ended his earthly journey in the 4th century. AD Until his death, he fought with the pagans and destroyed altars and temples, furiously denounced heretics, and also burned idols and temples of pagan gods. Not only children fall under the protection of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. His tutelage extends to students, travelers, merchants and sailors. Among the latter there is a legend that the saint went on a pilgrimage and was caught in a severe storm. Thanks to the prayer of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, performed at the request of desperate people, he calmed the raging elements. Since then, many sailors take icons of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker with them when setting sail. The holy saint of God is ready to come to the aid of everyone who turns to him for help, even pagans. He pays special attention to women who ask the saint for a calm family life. The custom of leaving a gift under the pillow is associated with another act of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. He saved the daughters of one poor man, who, in order to provide the girls with a dowry, was forced to send him to earn money through fornication. But the saint could not come to terms with this and, sneaking into the poor man’s house for three nights, he left a bar of gold under the pillow of one of the girls. Thus, thanks to a good deed, the homeless women were saved from sin. Traditions of honoring Nicholas differ depending on the country and the world: Catholic or Orthodox. In ancient times, this day was awaited not only by children who received a gift, but also by adults. They got together, brewed beer, kutya and uzvar, and also had fun. After that, they harnessed the best horses and rode. They watched who would enter the house first and rejoiced if it turned out to be a “good” person, sprinkled holy water on the cattle and tried to predict the weather and the harvest. The girls were also looking forward to this day, because... on this day the matchmakers arrived.
